@NikkiNuVogue Look, complain about my writing, the way my wording comes off, anything of that sort, I’ll bend the knee and go “yeah, you’re probably right”, but I’m trying to correct a mistake and you can stomp right off for trying to vilify it. I’m doing my best, and that’s all I can do.
Dave Chapelle @ John Mulaney OH thread:
gonna shoot this off into the great ethereal since i was at the John Mulaney show tonight:
-Yes, Chapelle was there.
-He made one transphobic joke, the joke was one line after one line of setup and it went as followed:
Update 4: Short and Sweet.
Please read other accounts that aren’t just mine. It’s proper research, folks, I’m one person and there’s no such thing as an objective narrator. I was one of 12,000 people, and while I tried my best here you should always cross-reference testimony.
It’s like yelling at someone for telling you it’s raining. In that same vein, if someone can show me that it’s not raining or get enough witnesses to say it’s not, I’ll gladly update my “weather report”. I want the truth, nothing more and nothing less. Hope that clears the air.
@afivegantenna@epistemophagy That’s 100% valid. In fact, I encourage people to read other accounts and not use one person’s recollection to justify their entire stance. Lot of people doing that, if I could go back and edit that first tweet it’d mention this.
@lizardkingfe@epistemophagy Perhaps there’s a jab in here for “assuming my stance” from your earlier comment, but honestly I just want one fucking person to know. I’ve been called a hall monitor and a transphobe for the same tweets, so I’ve done a damn good job leaving my opinion out, but you get to know.
@lizardkingfe@epistemophagy Apologies, as I’m literally like, unloading all of this on you, but it was going to happen to someone and you seem the most reasonable. I don’t defend what happened there, I’m PISSED, but if I attached my own narrative to my words, then im just another person giving an opinion.
@lizardkingfe@epistemophagy Make your own conclusions, read other sources, ya know? Nobody is ever going to be a completely reliable narrator, but I tried my best. Trans rights are human rights. (Sorry, also I type so much, I just worry about not making my point clear on such a delicate subject.)
@lizardkingfe@epistemophagy I have gotten, a lot, and I do mean a lot of fucking hate from people for just trying to compile shit in one area. I really was just trying to give some possibilities that could be possible given the circumstances, never did I ever want people to take it as me preaching to them.
@iwaoioyoy @lornesgf Hey, that’s all in the thread, that was a different set but I added those details to keep it all accurate. Check out the thread for more information! 👍
@NikkiNuVogue Absolutely NOT my intention, thank you very much.
I admit, my wording of the joke description can easily be taken the wrong way, but as a member of the LGBTQ community myself I wish to make it clear that trans rights are human rights.
//TO MAKE IT CLEAR//
The reason for listing out the quantity of jokes was to make sure that it was clear I wasn’t leaving anything out, not to minimize the impact of what happened last night. What happened isn’t better because “it’s okay, he only made ONE terrible joke.”

@Sharkspeer Yes, I am in fact a big fan of penis. Light humor aside, I understand where the wording rubbed some the wrong way, I hope this clarifies things.

It was purely to give detail on the event so people weren’t asking “were there any other jokes” or saying “what if he’s intentionally leaving things out!” I apologize to anyone who thought I was defending Chapelle’s actions here.
