Today my friends and I made grilled chicken skewers 😊 We got chicken hearts, skin, gizzards, livers, and drumsticks from a local farm down near Half Moon Bay and picked everything up ourselves. Fresh meat just tastes good however you cook it, right?

Today I learned sukiyaki at a friend’s house, and the first thing we did was grill the tofu. Is that how it’s supposed to look? We made a few substitutions and used turnips, parsnips, shiitake, asparagus, napa cabbage, and cilantro in place of shungiku. No chives and no scallions. We also had white shirataki, which she seemed especially excited about.
