As screenwriters, we can't control the business, other people's decisions, or contest placements. The only thing we can control 100% is developing our craft. Butts in seats, keep writing.
Screenwriting is patience. It's knowing you're going to write 20 drafts, not 2. It's knowing it's going to take a lot longer than you want it to. It's having multiple projects to work on, so you're never too heartbroken when one falls through.

Inspiration doesn’t strike, it’s formed. Commitment to craft, resilience, and a promise to return to the page – that’s success. If you’re waiting for some intangible moment to seize you, you’ll never type FADE OUT.
There's no right answer for every script. There are no hard and fast rules to follow. There's just you and your ability to tell the best story in the most effective way you know how.
