@DeputyGrocott We were never in the house. Instead we played kerby, hide and seek, five stones; we climbed trees and built dens, collected caterpillars and played skipping with someoneโs washing line.
@DHTDurrant@DeputyGrocott I loved mine! I spent so many hours skating that the plastic wheels disintegrated. I had roller boots after that and there was no stopping me.
Thereโs a roller club where I live and my best friend from primary and I are sorely tempted.
Our first day of inter railing to Switzerland is almost done as weโre on our last train (4/4) which takes us to Strasbourg.
Our train from Glasgow to London was cancelled but it was all rearranged quickly.
Looking forward to tomorrowโs journey.
@damedevelo Iโm with you. Weโre in Peebles for our anniversary. Itโs not cold but weโve yet to see the sun and itโs been raining on and off since we got here. Itโs the same back home in Ayrshire.
@ICT_MrP Couldnโt agree more. Weโve just finished for the summer and I canโt remember a busier summer term. We stopped on Tuesday and it was the only day I wasnโt teaching all day or involved in meetings/paperwork etc.
@DeputyGrocott@Keir_Starmer Scotland was given a โbank holidayโ but very few LAs granted it (ours included) as it would cost them a fortune.
Itโs a nice idea though.
@DeputyGrocott Our union (EIS) recommends evacuating classrooms if the temperature exceeds 26oC for over an hour. It is just a recommendation and I'm not sure where we're supposed to evacuate to. I think unions need to look into this, especially down south where heatwaves are more common.
If youโve not seen any of @MDMorrison82โs posts, go have a look. He and the Tartan Army are what the World Cup is all about. Heโs definitely one of us now. ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ
