Finlay Morrison

Former @STVRugby columnist.
Expect noise about Scotland, Rugby, Shinty, NFL, Ice Hockey, and Scottish music. Fond of satirical nonsense. DMs are size 11.

@AndyBurke_ Really bemused by the lack of in-form Edinburgh forwards for the likes of Jonny Gray, who's been a stalwart but unlikely to be involved post RWC.
An opportunity missed, as there's only 3 friendly games ( vs Fra twice and NZ) before the tournament begins.

[Finlay Morrison @FinMorrison]

May have missed it, but has there been any mention on
@BBCSportScot of Scotland's heroic win over Ireland in the Shinty/Hurling International in Cork, nevermind Edinburgh and Glasgow remaining undefeated at the top of the URC??

@BBCSportsound @TEnglishSport

[Finlay Morrison @FinMorrison]

@existdaybyday @Scotlandteam Probably depends on whether or not HJ is recalled.

[Finlay Morrison @FinMorrison]

Some names that I'd like to see Gregor Townsend announce in his @Scotlandteam squad tomorrow:

Hector Patterson
Jamie Ritchie
Matt Currie
Cam Henderson
Jake Dalziel

Think Kinghorn and H Jones are back in the mix, but will be interesting to see if GT selects for the future.

[Finlay Morrison @FinMorrison]

@Nemomeimpune4 @Scotlandteam Think it's in the next few weeks, so may not be eligible right away.

[Finlay Morrison @FinMorrison]

@JimCorlett3 @Scotlandteam I'd seen a post-match pic of him celebrating with Brex i think - when did that happen?

[Finlay Morrison @FinMorrison]

@RugbyPigHibs @Scotlandteam I think he'll be in there. Desperately need to future-proof that 3 jersey.

[Finlay Morrison @FinMorrison]

@alanwalters6 @Scotlandteam His comeback yesterday was very timely, and probably depends on whether GT includes Josh MacKay or Harry Paterson.

[Finlay Morrison @FinMorrison]

@PaulfromTPL @Scotlandteam Think the lack of "friendlies" over the next 12 months, might influence some 50/50 calls.

[Finlay Morrison @FinMorrison]

@JimCorlett3 @ScotRugbyNews @RugbySco If HJ isn't fit, then I'd like GT to call up Matt Currie for a centre spot, as he fully deserves it and not sure Redpath is back to where he was.

[Irish Examiner Sport @ExaminerSport]

Drama at the death gives Scotland first shinty-hurling win over Ireland since 2019 https://t.co/eAGa4vpwhh

[Shinty @camanachd]

What. A. Team.

[Finlay Morrison @FinMorrison]

@JLyall93 He regularly goes 80 minutes too, but GT always seems to find a reason to omit him.

[Finlay Morrison @FinMorrison]

Wasn't looking great at 17-0 down, but they rallied well and stuck to the gameplan against a tricky team, and some questionable refereeing.

Could be a very important BP win come May, but this team still has plenty more gears to go up.

[Glasgow Warriors @GlasgowWarriors]

Fought hard for that ⚔️

[Finlay Morrison @FinMorrison]

@ChrisSru880101 Absolutely, just couldn't pull away and gave Benneton most of their points.

Feel like Louis Lynagh is becoming Scottish kryptonite too, particularly in Italy - he seems to snuff out everything!

[Finlay Morrison @FinMorrison]

@ROB_Robireland Torturous at times, but had to find a way to win that and they did.

[Finlay Morrison @FinMorrison]

@ChrisSru880101 Could maybe ommit Hastings for Currie, and have Bayliss in there somewhere too?
There's a few tight calls in back row and centres.

[Finlay Morrison @FinMorrison]

@MichaelWhy27402 @LeinsterClub I think it could work very well, he's that big and skillful. Will be interesting come driving lineout time too.

[Finlay Morrison @FinMorrison]

@coldwarsteve Excellent work. Is that Max Branning at the end of the table too?!
