On this day, June 5, we remember the #Naksa (the Setback) of 1967, when the Zionist occupation took the remaining Palestinian territories that had not been occupied during the #Nakba of '48. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were displaced - many of whom were already refugees from the Nakba of '48.

Today, 59 years later, the Palestinian people find themselves in an already 2.5-year ongoing accelerated US-Zionist genocide. Gaza has been destroyed beyond recognition: no housing, no clean water, no medical care, and little food for most of the survivors.

For Palestinians in Gaza, displacement is not history - it is ongoing. Families are repeatedly forced from their homes while the occupation continues expanding its control over Palestinian land, denying people the right to return, rebuild, and live in dignity.

Entire neighborhoods and generations have been erased. Generations who already carried the trauma of exile are now facing renewed destruction, siege, and forced displacement once again. 🏠💔

The Sameer Project team met this hardworking man and asked him what he needs for his shoe fixing business to get a boost. So Yahya told us all he needs is a plastic chair and table.

During our Eid distributions, The Sameer Project team came across this elderly woman whose husband and children were killed. She suddenly found herself alone as a caretaker for four children in an ongoing genocide.

There are no systems in place to provide care for such vulnerable groups in Gaza. Some orphanages camps exist but even support to those tends to be minimal.

The Sameer Project plans to go back to this family to provide new clothes for the kids and a food package, and any other needs the grandmother might ask for. Unfortunately we don’t take many individual cases due to capacity but this is a case we couldn’t turn away due to the severity of the situation.

Raneem’s campaign has only received €329 since it was made. Donations are very sporadic (bless the wonderful people who’ve donated so far).

A couple weeks back, I was able to send some donors funds directly to help with some treatment costs but I don’t have anything right now. It would help so much if funds consistently came in for their family.

Sham is a child whose body is slowly failing her. She suffers from dangerously low blood sugar, severe calcium deficiency that is weakening her bones, and extreme malnutrition. In Gaza today, children like Sham are trapped in a cruel cycle. Their illnesses worsen while they wait for medical evacuation alongside tens of thousands of other patients whose referral requests remain unanswered. Every day spent waiting is another day their health deteriorates.

The Sameer Project's medical team assessed Sham's case and immediately stepped in to provide support. We supplied 12 cans of Pediasure nutritional milk, a parcel of fresh vegetables, fruit, and meat, a comprehensive food package containing essential staples, eggs, and additional nutritional support to help stabilize her condition while she waits for the care she desperately needs. The total cost of her care was $346 after 11% commission.

Sham’s body is breaking down due to the lack of nutritious food, medicine, and medical care - all held back by the occupation. Another life devastated.
