Heartbreaking news. Chris Lewis put his life on the line and paid a heavy price in order to save others from a situation they should never have been in. Don't just think about your own safety on the hills. Think about the men and women who might have to help you.
Folks, many of my followers like walking and the outdoors, if you can spare even a quid to help a badly injured volunteer it would be wonderful, thanks

We are saddened to learn of the passing of Hamish MacInnes, guardian angel to mountaineers around the globe and true hero of our time. He lived a great life and saved countless more. Here he is meeting some fans @glasgowfilmfest last year. Rest in peace, Hamish.
We are so sad to learn of the passing of Hamish MacInnes of Glencoe, at midnight last night. May his spirit always watch over the lost climbers of the Glen.
Good news for Final Ascent! Fresh from winning the Special Jury Prize at the Ulju Mountain Film Festival in South Korea on Oct 28, the film will be shown on #bbc4 Sunday Nov 1 at 9PM - tune in !
@Ian_Fraser@FinalAscentFilm Fantastic film and so glad he recovered from his more recent ordeal. What a magnificent collection of untapped archive footage we have in this genre.
BTW I believe "Call-Out" is available on Kindle, might be easier than tracking down a paper copy.

Some sensational historical footage here of Glencoe climbing and mountain rescue legend Hamish MacInnes, and insights into memory and mental health. Well worth watching even if you've climbed nothing more extreme than a double decker bus. @FinalAscentFilm https://t.co/RyI5pA4tqX
'Final Ascent' is an excellent film. One highlight was the archive footage of Hamish McInnes being interviewed Mary Marquis in the 1970s. My son, who was watching with me, said: "the interviewers were more intelligent then".
The director of @FinalAscentFilm, Robbie Fraser, says the film is as much about memory, identity and the way in which we treat older people, as it is about climbing. (excerpt from a preview by fellow climber @foreigncorr1 last year) https://t.co/mYHt4gJgTz
