@chirpxiv This is huge, thank you so much for this. Accessibility is important and it has felt for a long time now like someone on the encounter design team had a messy divorce wherein their colourblind ex took the kids.

The whole thing is rotted, and really needs to be stripped down to the bone if it wants to be welcoming to marginalized groups. But it won't be, because the people who benefit from it haven't been stomped down on for years. Idk how we fix this

Trying real hard not to get Involved in XIV discourse here because it's rancid, but because it's being discussed: I have been very fortunate to have gotten into raiding alongside a cis dude. I hate that it has to be that way. I know my experience without him would have been *bad*

I have managed to eke out a raiding space that feels safe, but that has come at the expense of my having to lead it, something I frankly do not have the time or drive to do. But it's the only way. I want to do RWF, but how can I find the time or energy to fight for air there

But, anyways, I think only having to bring one character to pace, only having to bother with unlocks on one character, and being given permission to put the game down and rest, is one of XIV's strengths.

@drakanous In WoW, if I want to contribute flexibility to my raid team, the time investment increases linearly alongside the amount of classes I want to bring, since that character needs levelled and geared and all the things. It feels bad to be gated by that.

I'm also celebrating having worked on my 40th book, which is a pretty crazy number for somebody who never really expected to be able to take this career trajectory. I'm unbelievably happy to be doing it, so here's to many, many more.
