@AkaPaulHoward Listened to this on a long drive back from Connemara earlier. Hugely entertaining. The Chris DeBurgh story was a great start, Germany as "one to watch" a great finish.
@MrGannyK@Corballyred I first properly watched him in the Ireland vs Hungary match last November. Was well impressed. Have watched him a fair bit since and think he'd be a starter in any team in Europe. Skillful, eye for goal, workrate, he's got everything.
@Corballyred@MrGannyK Not really my place to get involved here but Szoboszlai should be in every Team of the Season list being compiled by journalists etc. And I'm a United fan. He has single-handedly kept Slot in a job.
@dionfanning@freestateirl@JoeBrolly1993 Listening to the Michael Lyster episode. Relieved to hear Fergal McCusker get a mention. Was beginning to worry that something had happened to him. He's the Chris Finch of this podcast - best friend of the slightly deluded main character.
@JoeUnclej@AkaPaulHoward@ImpressionistAL If we can get agreement that Frank Stapleton was better than John Aldridge, for Ireland anway, then I think I could just about live with another civil war.
@AkaPaulHoward@ImpressionistAL Lads, now that Paul finally has a podcast I think we should have that long awaited Liverpool vs Man Utd debate. Only put an Ireland spin on it. Whelan, Heighway, Houghton, Aldo etc. vs Stapleton, McGrath, Moran, Keane etc.Losers get a wedgie on air
@AkaPaulHoward Comedy possibly peaked when David Bowie took over the running of the shop, when the two lads went on holiday, and declared "there's gonna be ch-ch-ch-changes around here".
@barrybrosnan I never really saw much of the "bad" stuff on here as rarely engaged in anything that wasn't football related. I just don't see tweets I want to read anymore. Always enjoyed the Liverpool stuff with yourself and Paul. And still think the Sammy Lee Autograph Roadshow is a winner!
I think it's time to leave Twitter. The "For you" tab is shite and the "Following" tab no longer works as intended. Gonna hop over to Bluesky (@finaldo.bsky.social) and, more importantly, take up the lost art of day-dreaming again. I'd love to see some of you eventually move too:
@AkaPaulHoward "Hey, Alex"
"Sorry, Sir Alex. I always forget. How are you? Myself & herself are gonna have twins & are thinking of calling them Finlay & Cian. Is that ok with you?"
"You're probably right. Too Scottish and too Irish. How about Jack and Tyler?".
"Deadly, Jack and Tyler it is so".
