as a founder, you must learn patience.
there is so much you want right now. because you already see the vision. you see the end.
but you cannot do everything at the moment.
you must prioritize. you must sequence.
plus, some things just take time.
some things just need to play their course.
you must learn patience.
9- 5 is not a guaranteed escape route from poverty, just as entrepreneurship isn’t.
Everyone’s life plan is different, and a lot of what people become is shaped by their background, opportunities, and environment.
If you’re a 9-5er, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. But if financial independence is the goal, don’t let your salary be your only source of sustainability.
Use the income, skills, network, and experience from your job to build something that can eventually stand on its own.
The goal isn’t necessarily to quit your 9-5. The goal is to build enough leverage that you’re not entirely dependent on it.
I’d disagree with the “deliberately” part.
ATM cash shortages aren’t necessarily because banks want people to use POS. Cash logistics, ATM replenishment costs, withdrawal patterns, network downtime, location and daily cash demand all play a role.
The bigger reason POS won is convenience and proximity.
And that’s exactly why I think POS itself isn’t the final destination either.
The real competition isn’t ATM vs POS.
It’s stress vs convenience.
Whoever makes accessing and moving money easier will eventually win.
@oluwafemi_7b Banks deliberately load less cash into their ATM machines and that’s the only reason people resort to POS despite their excessive charges.
The whole conversation around POS killing the ATM system is interesting, but here’s the honest truth:
People will always choose convenience over stress.
As someone who has spent 5+ years in the finance space, I’ve watched this play out firsthand.
Think about the ATM experience: long queues, machines that are out of cash, failed transactions, and the uncertainty of whether the next ATM will actually dispense your money.
Now compare that to opening your gate and finding a POS agent right there.
“Do you have cash?”
“Yes. How much?”
“₦50k.”
Done. Simple. Convenient. Stress-free.
That’s why POS exploded.
But here’s the part most people aren’t thinking about:
POS will eventually fade too.
And before you tell me I’m just saying things that won’t happen, bookmark this post and watch what happens over the next 5 years.
