@Miniruks A transfer that will impact so many other deals this summer & beyond, but it's not the first mad money deal in recent years (Enzo, Wirtz) at least Anderson has done it in the PL. I know Utd are trying to reshape their image in the transfer market, but they still need to compete.
@Malachians We're not far away from people being able to create extremely realistic AI videos of public figures saying those fake quotes to "camera" too. Soon people will doubt any quote that they see, whether that it's real or fake, then we will see a real breakdown in trust. Yuck.
@RedMarrow_ Jeez Louise, that's crazy. I like playing computer games & occasionally look up graphics cards, then think better of it.
I've been listening to some pretty grim podcasts about AI recently & can only hope that the industry implodes before it rots everyone's minds & takes our jobs.
@__scottsaunders If we do end up losing Fernandes, it won't be the end of the world. However, if this is the summer where all the available premier midfield options have a 20-30% mark up due to market conditions; then we may end up having to overpay on some details, hopefully United get it right.
@__scottsaunders@Altgthr@JoeBusbyBabes Only time(& hindsight) will tell. If Utd really are targeting a title in '28,then they are going to have to go pretty close in '27 for that to be a real possibility. If our top 3/4 midfield targets disappear because rivals are being more aggressive, that could be pretty difficult.
@Altgthr I don't know what the correct answer is.However, this whole"only bid when you know it'll be accepted"allows rivals through the door to pursue your targets as they think there's a chance & doesn't really put any pressure on the selling club. I'd have bid ยฃ70M for Anderson in Jan.๐คท
@_shaunirvine This seems extremely unlikely given that Amorim hardly played him during his last few months as Man Utd manager & very public ally told Ugarte that he "is not the player that I remember at Sporting" in front of the rest of the squad.
@__scottsaunders If he wants it, keep him - Rashford is a ready made wing forward who already knows the club. I know 50% of the Utd fanbase seem to absolutely detest him, but he's stood up in some huge games for us in his long career & he'll be back playing in his favoured position under Carrick.
@FPLfrasier I'm all for refs sticking with their decision after being called to the screen on a 50/50, but that was definitely a penalty & we'd be absolutely outraged if that decision has been to the detriment of Man Utd
