@AlonzoT15018458@ClaireBerlinski@WalshFreedom Agreed. Plus enrollment is so low public school funding will be impacted for years. The schools in the 'good districts' will have nonstop PTA fundraisers. The schools in 'poor districts' are screwed indefinitely.
@epidatageek @ClaireBerlinski You realize thousands of kids in every district aren't logging in or accounted for? And social services says there is an alarming lack of reporting - teachers usually flag when kids are being abused. Youth suicide is also up & kids are being left home alone while parents work.
@ClaireBerlinski At least 5k kids in our school district are unaccounted for - not logging in or showing up. The class divide is enormous. Rich parents have pods and tutors. Poor kids in marginalized communities do not. Enrollment is also so low public school funding will be screwed up for years
@AlexBerenson I tend to agree with you based on gut feeling and what we're experiencing, but this feels anecdotal. What is the documentation and data that teacher unions want to "abandon" in-person?
@AlexBerenson Atlanta public schools haven't been in any kind of in-person school since March. The state was barely shut down. People can get tattoos, drink, go bowling but kids can't go to school. It's been this way since mid-April. No one seems to care. Certainly not our mayor or governor.
@AlexBerenson The man probably wanted to know if it was in the house or forwarded to Victor, signed, left behind, partially completed but not signed, etc. I took this to mean he wanted to know what had happened to it. But I live in ATL and can say EVERYONE was posting about curing your ballot.
@CSX why are you sitting around on Dekalb Ave off Oxford in Atlanta (30307) idling off and on up to 72-hours?? You are the ONLY train line that does this. Keeps everyone up. Making me miserable and polluting the air. Explain please.
@Scharlesquinn Wish the media would look into the Board of Education. They refused to extend Carstarphen's contract DURING A PANDEMIC, then stuck us with someone who worked all summer as a $$$ consultant and came up with no plan. No leadership here. BOE says they can do nothing. Recall them.
@ATLINtownPaper For kindergarten to 2nd grades. NO PLAN for any other grades. No dates for the rest to resume. No hard questions answered. Plan doesn't make sense. Board of education refuses to step up and do their job by vetoing the plan and installing a sensible one like other counties.
@vanmccray She didn't address parents. She read softball questions that were pre-submitted. Over 3,000 freaked out parents in the comments. It was a disaster, the plan makes no sense, refuses to answer hard questions. Look into why the board of education is allowing this to happen, please
@wsbtv It was such a disaster. Nothing made sense. They're using vague, outdated data, refusing to answer hard questions, refusing to look at what surrounding districts are doing. Board of Education should be recalled and replaced. They're not stepping up & getting chaos under control.
@wsbradio Do we?? They've told us nothing about return of 3rd through 12th grades, nothing made sense to families who wanted only virtual or only in person. They're hiding behind vague data and info. Board of Education needs to be recalled. Media is not investigating their neglect at all.
@ButtNut_Squash @SchrammCBS46 @cbs46 Agreed. Terrible leadership. Board is hiding behind the superintendent and refuses to step up and vote in their own plan. It's a disaster.
No forced hybrid or virtual school. Provide optional 5-days a week in person learning at Atlanta public schools immediately - "Our familyโs APS battleโฆand what you can learn from it" -

@_B_Greene @AJCGetSchooled Curious if you have children experiencing virtual learning? Especially special ed kids young learners? Everything else is open including daycares, private schools, after school programs, restaurants, and other school districts. We need more options because virtual isn't working
@AJCGetSchooled People act like parents want a mandate to return to school - we want a CHOICE. Despite what APS says they are not transparent, are following dated data, changing benchmarks & kids STILL do not have devices 4 weeks into school. Its a disaster. https://t.co/6C59ayioNT
