A player only has so many throws in their arm. That is why things like the Towel Drill are great to use.
The towel drill can be used to make mechanical adjustments and work on your mental game.

Then he walks off the mound with big body language.
A big takeaway from this video is Payton's use of visualization. He shows really good body language (like he's a super hero), intense focus and I could not hear or see it, but I expect strong self-talk.

The other thing that can be observed in this video is Payton using visualization. He can be seen stepping off the mound, collecting himself and then stepping on the pitching rubber. As you watch, you can see how his demeanor changes after he takes a deep breath.

Remember, the pressure is on the pitcher during situations like this and not the hitter. If the hitter goes up with a plan and stays within themself like Goldschmidt does, they have a good chance of finding success.
