Direct-response VSL and video editor for a fast-growing DTC ecommerce brand.

Long-term role. Performance-driven. NO agencies.

The brand is in the pet health / supplement niche, so experience with health, wellness, pets, supplements, or emotionally driven DTC offers is a plus.

I’m looking for one editor, a real person, not a team, to become the creative editing backbone of the brand.

The main focus will be VSLs and direct-response sales videos, with short-form Meta ads, hook variations, UGC edits, AI avatar ads, and animated creative built around that system.

I want someone who treats the brand like it’s their own and actually cares whether the ads perform.

What you’ll be making:

- VSL-style sales videos for paid social
- Short-form direct-response ads for Meta
- Talking-head, UGC, AI avatar, and testimonial edits
- Animated ads, including Pixar-style creative
- Hook variations and fresh iterations from winning ads
- Captions, sound design, b-roll, motion, proof moments, pattern interrupts, and pacing that keeps people watching

Every brief will be clear, but I don’t want someone who just assembles clips.

I want an editor who brings judgment.

You should be strong at:

- Direct-response editing
- VSL pacing and retention
- AI creative tools
- Animation and AI-assisted visual generation
- B-roll sourcing and selection
- Turning a script into a video that sells, not just a video that looks nice

This is for you if:

- You personally edit the work
- You communicate clearly and don’t disappear
- You ask smart questions up front
- You flag problems early
- You take ownership of the edit
- You can bring ideas without ignoring the brief

This is NOT for you if:

- You’re an agency
- You outsource or subcontract edits
- You need every clip and decision handed to you
- You go quiet for days
- You only care about making edits look cool, not making them convert

The deal:

- Pay-per-video, based on complexity
- Consistent volume for the right editor
- Performance bonuses after training, once your edits are driving results
- More upside and volume as you prove yourself
