As #FindNewWords, we needed to test how desensitised our society is to queer slurs. We conducted a social experiment with the fake #ScoopWashingPowder ad. 8 million saw the ad and just under 100 complained - https://t.co/Y5MdWdektW. #ComingOutDay

As a 28-year-old Xhosa cis gay man, I would not be able to “come out” in Xhosa, which is my home language. I would have to use the term “gay,” as it is the only non-offensive word that is used to describe us in South Africa. -@Pumlani_Kango via @Into https://t.co/jLzXOTIDRZ
The word "WA LERATO PEDI" can be used to describe bisexual people. What we like about this term is that it focuses on attraction and not on what happens in the bedroom. View and submit more words here: https://t.co/2n4o5gC9C9.
@GapToothedMami Choices everywhere. 'Uketshezi' was submitted within the context of talking about fluidity. However, some people had reservations because the word is also used in certain instances to refer to bodily fluids in the laboratory sense.
