GTA 6’s Extended Look didn’t just show off the world, characters and gameplay, it also gave fans a much better idea of the kind of soundtrack Rockstar is building for Vice City.
The music featured throughout the showcase spans multiple decades and genres, mixing classic pop, rock, R&B, hip-hop, funk and dance tracks. Songs from artists like Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Tom Petty, Al Green, Van Halen, Journey, Wham!, Cyndi Lauper, Genesis, Mary J. Blige, Trick Daddy, Trina and City Girls all appeared during the Extended Look.
That mix feels very intentional. GTA has always used its radio stations to help define the personality of its worlds, and Vice City in particular has one of the most iconic musical identities in gaming. GTA 6 appears to be taking that idea much further by combining nostalgic tracks with newer songs that fit the modern-day version of Vice City and Leonida.
Of course, these are only the songs featured in the Extended Look, not the complete GTA 6 soundtrack. The final game is expected to contain far more music spread across multiple radio stations, locations, missions and in-game media.
If this is only a preview of what Rockstar has planned, GTA 6 could end up having one of the most varied soundtracks in the series.
