So in 2022, Dave Ziegler signed Darren Waller, Chandler Jones, Bilal Nichols and Hunter Renfrow to $145 million deals.
In the last two days we drafted 4 players to replace them.
I was good with the Jimmy G signing. Knows the offense, won a lot of games, has weapons-a-plenty in Vegas, but then Denver had to ruin it by signing Stiddy City for peanuts.
Stiddy knew the offense, younger, plus mobility.
Jimmy > Stiddy, I’m sure, but man, what an injury risk.
Happy for DC. He’s got a shot to win some ball games with the Saints. Bad division, vet team, very good defense, Kamara/Olave. I wish him nothing but the best.
And that’s the last time I’ll ever mention him and thank god for that!
Gonna re-sign Stiddy City, probably not draft a QB in round one, rather take best player available at 7, a down-tier QB on Day 2, build the DEF up in free agency and the rest of the draft and get picked to finish dead last in every publication.
And I can’t wait.
New Era, Baby!
Said this last year about the QB, the RB’s trade value won’t be higher than it is right now. Franchise and find a partner willing to extend?
I begrudgingly accepted the QB extension in ‘22 and seems like most of Raider Nation want to extend Josh as well in ‘23.
I’m not so sure
@19mirage76 I like them individually, been reading Vic forever (a great writer), Ted’s film work is always solid, but it’s a lot of cooks in one podcast kitchen.
I also think Vic is tired of the Raiders beat. It’s gotta be a bit soul-crushing.
Listening to State of the Nation pod. Man, these guys bum me out.
We have Davante Adams and Maxx Crosby, fellas.
Waller, Renfrow, cap space, The #7 pick, a sick new stadium in a destination, tax-free state and an owner who wants to win.
Can’t wait for ‘23 and a new QB.
Since it’s “going on record” time. Now that there’s only one team that gets a playoff BYE, getting that PLUS two home games is a shit-ton for 1-seed that usually is only that because they beat up on a crap division.
Also, there should be a NFL Draft Lottery for non-playoff teams
I'll go on record in saying that putting the conference title games at neutral sites would be a godawful idea, and blatant money grab. The Super Bowl's the Super Bowl. A neutral-site conference title game would have all the atmosphere of a Cotton Bowl in a non-CFP year.
@memdf2004@RaidersBeat I hear ya, but George Blanca was my first favorite Raider AND I think Tom Brady is the only player in the NFL older than me, so he gets points for that.
@memdf2004@RaidersBeat Hey now, I consider myself a real Raider fan and I want Brady. Wanted him 3 years ago. You see that bomb he threw to Evans? Can still sling it and knows the Offense.
I think we should pump the breaks a bit on Stiddy City. I believed he’d do well last week, but he’s a FA as well.
If you still can’t understand that good QB play helps a defense (in points allowed, yards against, Time of Possession), then you can’t be helped.
9 years of rarely putting an opponent away, keeping our D off the field with quality 2nd half possessions.
It’s all connected.
Positive we’ve been dysfunctional/unstable for all 63 years. And that’s how real Raider Fans like it. Go be a Niners fan if function and stability is your brand of Chardonnay. We could use to cut some of this deadweight fan base, anyway.
Al Davis/Raiders do things different.
For those mad at David Carr calling the #Raiders dysfunctional/unstable. Folks, the team has been that way for 2 decades.
The Raiders didn't change David, they've been this way for 20 yrs. 204 losses since 2003 is testament to that.
If fans fail to see that they are oblivious.
Not too bad a day. Offense balled out with Wifey in the homemade Stiddy City jersey. Daughter Dani (first live game) with the #2 Dani jersey got props for that 56 yarder from our whole section. Talked mad ish to Niners fans. Kept draft position. Cube/Too Short. Happy 2023!
The Niners defense is nice. Protection problems vs Pittsburg made Derek’s life very difficult. A New QB couldn’t step into a more difficult position here.
Good luck, @Jarrett_Stidham All of Raider Nation is behind you to put some drives together and have a good showing.
Very fitting that after Nine years of being slightly puzzled and annoyed by everything Derek Carr says and does, that his final act as a Raider is also slightly annoying and puzzling.
Why exactly can’t DC just take a benching and support his teammates from the sideline?
