Besides for Soto, Bo Bichette has the potential to be the biggest difference maker in the Mets' lineup.
Bo currently holds the lowest 1st half OPS of his career, but last night, he went 4-for-4 with a sac-fly.
Is this where he turns it around?

“What I’ve heard today is, they’re aggressively looking for a right-handed hitter… It might be a case where the Red Sox are willing to take on a bad contract.”
- @Buster_ESPN regarding the Red Sox on the Just Baseball Show
Mark Vientos has been given the keys to 1B this year, and has disappointed up to this point.
His total lack of accountability all season has not made matters better. He blames bad luck, bad hops, and almost everything but himself.

The Mets have played more extra-inning games than any team in baseball.
1. Mets - 12
2. Cardinals - 9
3. Cubs - 9
4. White Sox - 8
5. A's & Rays - 8
They are currently on pace for 32 extra-inning games, which would break the record of 31 set by the 1943 Boston Red Sox. 🤯

Sean Manaea looked like his 2024-self last night vs the Mariners going 5.0 IP allowing only a HR & a walk.
What was different in this outing?
His confidence. #LGM
The Mets finish May with a 16-12 record, and are now only 7 games under .500.
Do the Mets still have a shot at making the playoffs? What needs to happen for them to make it? #LGM
The New York Mets have salvaged their month of May with one rout of a series. Should be a 16-12 month for the Mets, with a stretch mixed in there where they lost seven of eight. Solid building block to carry some momentum into June.
Christian Scott STEPPED UP when the Mets needed it the most 😤
IP: 30.1
ERA: 2.97
WHIP: 1.38
K: 38
With Holmes hitting the IL, Scott has effectively cemented himself as the 3rd best pitcher in the Mets rotation.
Due to his limited MLB exposure, and from missing all of 2025, the Mets couldn't gone into this year expecting too much out of Christian Scott.
Now here we are at the end of May, Scott is literally saving the Mets rotation. He's become their No. 3 starter out of nowhere.
Unless the Mets can use an injury replacement, Pintaro, Duarte, Thornton, Gerber and Severino can't be recalled.
Ross and Carrillo each threw over 20 pitches on Friday night in AAA. That's every arm on the Mets 40.
Desperate times, I wonder if Jack Wenniger gets the call.
In need of a fresh pitcher even after a day off yesterday, the Mets are optioning Tobias Myers, league sources said.
In their 9-7 win (10 innings) tonight over the Marlins, the Mets used seven pitchers.
@madgers818 I think there is a chance we see him get stretched out, but also the demotion was warranted on performance too. Myers gave up runs in five of 11 appearances in May, and had a 6.43 ERA this month.
If I had to guess, they stretch him out, but that's not all this was about.
Wenniger is on five days rest. He can be called up to be the long man for the next few days. If they don't need him, you send him back down and the only harm was you added him to the 40, which you have to do by December to protect him from the Rule 5 anyway.
