Gary Smith hasn't spoken publicly since leaving Nashville SC. Until now.
I sat down with Nashville's first coach for an exclusive, wide-ranging conversation — his time in Nashville, Aké Loba, the Leagues Cup final, Hany Mukhtar, and what's next for him.

@Denzell_Of_NSH Liverpool wants to connect so bad that they sent you Ian Ayre and @NSC_Guru and they’re coming to your home pitch this summer. Just say yes Denzell
Also you don’t have to worry about bandwagoning because this was our dark year where we finished 5th 😂
@Denzell_Of_NSH@ItSwheelsagain Not corny at all. Sports is about so much more than just the product on the field. It’s the community around it that makes it special.
Glad we support a club that seems to understand that for the most part.
@EveryoneNGold To me, soccer is about more than just watching one famous guy on the field be really good. But apparently that puts me in the minority opinion online lol
I actually think this sentiment is fine. But if that’s the stance the Messi fans want to take, then they should be fine playing without drums, chants, etc. just turn it into a baseball crowd if that’s what they want.
2 different team cultures on display. You can keep your purchased MLS cup and detached superstars. I’ll take a team that plays for its people every day of the week

All the good that Inter Miami did in the 90 minutes from a futbol standpoint is likely to be overshadowed by the tense exchanges between Messi and La Familia.
Messi seemed none too pleased with the pointed chant. Fans just as unhappy with that reaction.
