Great to see a bumper new edition of the IJSJ out. Brilliant pieces, including from @OrlaKelleher92 on environmental constitutionalism, James Rooney on social class and judging, and Conor Crummey on Art. 40.5 and private evictions.

Heads-up Dubliners: Next Wednesday (3-430pm) I will present my paper 'Law in the Service of Legitimacy' to the Irish Jurisprudence Society (National University of Ireland buildings, Merrion Square) with @oisinsuttle @oran_doyle and Conor Crummey.
My good friend Conor Crummey has a fantastic new paper (forthcoming in the IJSJ) entitled 'Unconstitutional Evictions'. It explores the moral underpinnings of Art. 40.5, and argues for a robust application of it in private eviction disputes. Read here:

It was a privilege to be invited to give evidence before the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Assisted Dying this morning, alongside Dr Louise Campbell. I discussed how the courts have approached issues in end of life decision making, as well as consent and decision-making capacity.
I'll be speaking at this excellent conference tomorrow, discussing recent developments in housing law. In particular, I'll be talking about the impact of the Clare County Council v McDonagh judgment in lower courts.
