@martianmushroom @DrJessTaylor I think it can be a hard lesson - that fitting in can be more injurious than staying true to oneself - then you'd need good team back-up or else any resulting isolation can also be very harmful for humans. Maybe things are changing, but I think there will always be a tension...

@HMRCcustomers No progress on why tax for a termination payment does not appear on my PAYE online although income tax (NI not applicable) and student loan(possibly) are deductions I knew applied. I did not think just anyone could deduct tax, sit on it, and give no explanation.

@MsJoBillington @Ka81 I like this Jo. It's easy when idealistic to get caught up in movements for change. But there can be future costs to ourselves and our lives we are not aware of. I wish every activist well and I am so glad we have the young people of today - it does make me proud and hopeful.

@asdfriendly @familyeducating @teamsquarepeg My experience is when professional advice is what they want to hear, then that's all fine. When it is insufficient to agree with what they have already concluded - they promote themselves as doctor, psychiatrist, judge or jury as knowing better.

@Ka81 Agree. Having to prove a problem-free background will be impossible for a huge part of the population now we are encouraged even bombarded to fess-up our issues and accept our labels. In the quarters with power, nothing has changed "weakness" an objective target means humans.

@branwenjeffreys Personally I think there's something much more fundamental going on because how can someone(individuals in Ofsted and similar bodies) accept that many of their underlying principles and much underlying philosophy can injure humans - a bit of tweaking won't help.

Once I agree-use circles! Place circles (diameter 1 unit - can shrink) inside the square grid. Same count! Shift circles grid so I have 1/2 circles on boundaries and vertices - same count! Always works

Is there anything intuitive rather than formal for Pick's Theorem (for year 8 ). I think of fitting "pies" inside the shape - whole pies on inside grid points, "pieces" at vertices fitting to make extra pie(s) and half pies on sides through grid points. Works fine but why?
