@andrewhdonohoe@eric_nelligan The Rule, I believe, is before the act of kicking. I would say he was in the act of kicking, hence the 50-metre advance. I would say the ref deemed it a delay as the player who fouled knew exactly what they were doing. Any delay is a 50-metre advance imo.
@andrewhdonohoe@eric_nelligan Ref has to whistle for all marks. It's the player that calls it. 1st, player was in the act of kicking the ball. 2nd, he was tackled while in possession, which is just a free. IMO
@TonyOShea16@SmallerFishGAA It’s quite simple – the first club you became an adult member of would be considered your first club. That could be how the GAA addresses what you’ve just suggested. The likelihood is that all these now-paid coaches started off in their own club.
@OneIreland32 @TheLeftWingBack Its the one on the right that is meant to come across the back of the goal as its being kicked from the left side as we are looking.
@CahairOKane1 4v3 stay within the 45 until middle contact with the ball from kick out. Mark is claimed straight away; otherwise, it continues. In attack: Claim mark, defend only 1v1, until shot, or slip pass, tackle. A second defender goes to tackle, it becomes an automatic advantage or free.
@SmallerFishGAA I used to support the mark rule when it was used against packed defenses, now its a joke because players are initiating tackles before playing the ball. As for the attacking mark, offers no real advantage except for the forward. A def can make a great block and still be penalized
@johnnymurta@utd_byron@Dmartin1977@SportTG4@TG4TV@officialdowngaa It is within the rules that a player can take up to 4 meters from a free, so technically, the players are not doing anything wrong by moving before the tap and go. To prevent this movement before the tap and go, the wording of the rules would need to be changed. Imo
@PlayerGaelic A rule that definitely needs to change is that only a two-point score should be allowed from play. Additionally, referees should allow the solo and go actions to occur if they are issuing a yellow card. Otherwise, we may see more cards in club games, as club referees…………….
Calling girls born in 2009/10 interested in playing football for a potential An Riocht Under 16 team.
Any girls interested should attend a meeting at the club on Tuesday 14th January at 7pm.
Everyone interested in the local area please come along. 🏐
@SmallerFishGAA It is nonsense. The team that commits a foul should simply leave the ball and move on. Any interference with the ball that prevents an attack leads to a free kick awarded further up the field. Simple!
@SmallerFishGAA Bring in a rule!!
When a keeper or another player takes a kickout, the opposing keeper must remain in their small square until the ball is touched by another player.
@coachshanerice Indeed, it is! Similarly, it's a tough day for the clubs as well! I can foresee additional expenses coming, such as a pitch monitor for club games to assist the referee, in my opinion. Referees will need assistance; otherwise, they may decide to leave.
@PlayerGaelic Most of the rules could be implemented in the club. An additional referee, neutral monitoring official, or lineperson is needed to observe the 3v3 play and the midfield. A referee alone cannot effectively manage this.
@JnrMcgrath@MartyMofficial@RTEsport@rtenews@TheSundayGame@RTEgaa@officialgaa 100% won't be refereeable at club level. 3v3 not a chance unless every game has an extra ref to control the sideline.
I hate the fact other players won't be allowed to ask a question. Players aren't really the issue during games, it's off the field imo that's mostly the problem
