I just tried to get home from the shops using public transport. It's a 16-minute drive. Google Maps told me it would take 1 hour 12 minutes by bus.

@PplpupLen @Llib7 @ptua you're already halfway to the actual point. you said yourself there's "not much chance for extra" from whoever wins. so punishing Labor doesn't get Melton anything either, it just changes who's not fixing it.

@PplpupLen @ptua @Llib7 Spite votes don't build bus routes or fix 30-minute walks to a stop. If the alternative is "small government" cuts or empty protest votes, Melton ends up with even less service than it has right now.

The Liberals are running a petition to "restore the City Loop" for Pakenham and Cranbourne lines, crying about the Metro Tunnel they originally pitched under Denis Napthine. Pure clown car behavior from an opposition with no plan except opposing whatever Labor does.

you know what’s a waste. We have 70 HCMT trains in #Melbourne and at 10m core frequencies during the day this means that most trains will sit there in a depot twiddling their thumbs (not literally). How much more useful would a 5 or 6 or 7 minute frequency be.

It is professional negligence for experts to propose train station car parks as a solution for boosting patronage.

It is genuinely the least cost-effective, worst possible way to do it.

Even an enormous, expensive car park can only fill a fraction of a single train.

Heaps of others have posted but l don’t know why they reopened the section of Flinders St that was closed (due to Munnel works)for a few years to cars..the city seemed to cope..how good would it have been if there was a pedestrian plaza outside one of our main train stations..

@TerenceMcCart14 Victorian Labor has infuriatingly low vision urban planning policies. Everything has to be designed to accommodate cars in some way, even in the CBD. They don't seem to realise that you can just close streets during the day and allow commercial vehicles in at night and early morn
