The opportunity to improve people’s financial health with these technologies is a privilege. For those of us building with them, it also means taking full responsibility as individuals for the advice we will deliver.
Thank you to the Central Bank of the UAE for including us.
Our co-founders @Finnheff and David Harte were recently invited to a Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) roundtable on agentic AI, consumer protection and financial health.
At Sora, we spend every day debating how AI can improve people’s financial lives while still protecting them.
This time, we got to discuss those same topics with worlds top banks, insurers, fintechs and global regulators, and share what we’re learning as we build.
Two stats raised from an FCA survey during the session really resonated with us:
1. 44% of UK investors aged 18–40 mistakenly believed AI-generated financial information was regulated.
2. 32% of them also wrongly expected compensation through the FSCS or Financial Ombudsman Service if AI advice went wrong.
We’re building safe, regulated AI for financial advice, which means testing recommendations against each client’s full financial life and verifying every calculation.
It’s critical to keep evaluating suitability and monitoring outcomes as their circumstances change. What we learn over time will help us refine which decisions AI can make independently and which require human judgement.
If you live in South Dublin, and have a remote job or run your own business, you better get with @officepods.
They let me bring in my intern who is way more productive in the pods 🐶😆
@omanair@lana_pat_@omanair you ignore DMs, ignore multiple emails, don’t answer your UK, US, UAE or Omani customer support lines. So many people are trying to contact you about refunds for cancelled flights, why aren’t you responding?
