In Tine entry point, Eastern Chad, almost 400 refugees from Sudan still arrive every week. They arrive with only what they can carry themselves, and are in desperate need of urgent life saving aid. They cannot wait any longer.

Eastern Chad: every day there are new arrivals from Sudan, civilians fleeing the brutal conflict.
More than 50,000 refugees now live in Goudrane Camp alone.

They fled violence and deprivation caused by the war, but now receive almost no support - not even the bare minimum of water necessary for survival.

The regional fallout from Sudan's war is underreported, and everyday desperate needs are going unmet.

Here in Port Sudan - more accessible than most of Sudan - conditions for those fleeing are desperate.
NRC, with local partners, is scaling up... but overall funding has been grossly inadequate, logistics weak, & we struggle to get visas, permits, & access across frontlines.

Faced with this extremely alarming humanitarian situation in eastern Chad, we call for international mobilisation. Only 27% of the required humanitarian funds have so far been received. (4/4)

In June 2022 NRC South Sudan started an important project. They wanted to solarise our offices and guesthouses in the country…

This was an ambitious project, with big challenges to overcome and a 2-year timeline.
