PlayStation has confirmed that physical games released before January 2028 will still work after the company stops releasing new games on disc.

If you already own a physical PlayStation game or buy one that launches before the January 2028 deadline, you’ll still be able to install and play it on consoles with a disc drive.

The only change is that new PlayStation games released from January 2028 onward will be digital-only.

Existing physical games and your current disc collection are unaffected.
