I only met ed Stourton twice. The first time I was the 'expert' guest on an hour long phone in show he presented. It was my first ever such broadcast and he could see my shaking hands as I was so nervous. He rather sweetly passed a note to me while the calls were coming in which just said something like, 'No need to be nervous, it's just a chat and remember you know more about it than all of us'.
Then many years later I was a guest on the Sunday morning religious show he presented. I was stunned he remembered me and how nervous I was, and made a (sweet) joke about it.
A lovely - and brilliantly talented - man. RIP.
