@bccww@YBCN_UK I take letrozole - I get less pain with a particular brand. My pharmacy always keeps some aside for me, but I was told they were struggling to get that brand for me.
I was nervous last time I picked up my prescription but thankfully they managed to get the right brand.
@NancysPoint I was out shopping in a nice bra shop. I asked if they sold false nipples, because I had lost mine due to cancer.
No she replied and suggested I search the Internet, she asked me if I was OK to talk about my cancer, we talked about my experience.
@siobhain_hannon @ThanksCancer@JaneyGodley I got a score was 46. Considered very high risk. Yes I had chemo 12 weekly Taxol and radiotherapy x 15. All as post surgery treatment. Was also er + so I am on Letrozole as well (5-10 years)
@Jessica_E_Smith @ThanksCancer I was offered a single mastectomy and a lumpectomy. I asked for double mastectomy and had reconstruction. I didn't want to do this again, but still had to have radiotherapy and chemo, hormone blockers etc due to lymph node involvement and an oncotype score of 46.
@carolyngarritt I take mine going to bed.
Watch the manufacturer / brand's I use Sun Pharmacy as this causes the least joint pain.
I also use an anti inflammatory diet, so I avoid gluten, sugary drinks, soda etc and alcohol.
I also take glucosamine magnesium and sage to manage the impacts.
@FairUseLBR@ThanksCancer I bought the most comfortable trainers that I could find. I take a walking stick if I'm going further than 30 mins walking. I rest the days that it hurts.
I take magnesium which helps. Chemo has given me some limitations but it doesn't stop me.
@laniegirl17 @1Soloneo@ThanksCancer @ChemoCookery I used aloe gel from the fridge but my skin burnt so quickly the team moved me onto aquaphor also stored in the fridge which made me a bit more comfortable. Also look at what you are putting next to.your skin. I cut up some silk and placed it between skin and clothing it helped
@ThanksCancer The only upside is I can watch a new TV series, leave it a week and then watch it again, and it's like I have never seen it before. All the joy is still there, with only a vague feeling occasionally that the characters look familiar.
@MuseInControl It's crap but you can do this. I'm 3 years since surgery, did 12 rounds of pacitaxol, 15 sessions of radiotherapy, my big tip is drink as much water as you can and then drink some more. Hydration helps chemo and radiotherapy. My hair came back fine.
@HLindaMahler@ThanksCancer I asked them to reduce my steroids, helped a lot. They reduced it slowly. So before it was the right amount, I used to do the ironing.....
@LobularBCUK I joined the day in London. It was so lovely to connect t with people who had the same type of breast cancer. Attend if you can you won't regret the time.
@DeityShe@ThanksCancer I had 12 weekly pacitaxol. I tried the cold cap but I couldn't do it way too painful. So I lost my hair, never knew about cold socks and mittens. 2.5 years later and I still have neuropathy. It's milder now but its still there especially when tired. If you can do it, do
@NUCLEARnicole@ThanksCancer My hearing has become super sensitive since chemo, I hear everything, sometimes it's painful. I feel like everyone is shouting all the time. I used music to block the world out, can't do that now, too painful.
