A very happy evening for @FircroftCollege 🎉💚
Autumn is a nice time in the gardens @FircroftCollege, the pace isn't as hectic as it can be in spring and summer and the timing is just right for planting projects, like this new border started today on the woodland side of our pond.
A glorious start to the today - @FircroftCollege gardens today featuring saffron crocuses, a freshly mown lawn, and the self seeded Verbena bonariensis in the veg garden!
Our vegetable garden looking lovely in the autumn sunshine today! Featuring a new pond in progress thanks to a kind donation & the hard work of our brilliant Mother Garden students. This will be a wildlife pond that will hopefully attract some of nature's pest controllers!🐸🐌🍂
@healthybrum Take a look at @FircroftCollege Plantry project using the circular economy to recycle waste and the produce from their Mother Garden in the kitchen and shop with a Christmas Market this winter https://t.co/Rj1eD6QMPT @Food_Foundation@food_trails
Can you help?
We are after donations of glass jars/small bottles with lids to help us keep up with all the products being made! Collection point in reception, so if you are visiting soon please do bring any you can spare, they will definitely be put to good use 😊
Thank you!
Today's Plantry lunch dishes were orzo Greek pasta salad or a Italian orzo pasta salad with beautiful dressing made with our own fircroft honey and herbs. And not forgetting the soup of the day a @FircroftCollege apple potato and leek 😋 Enjoy
Dexter of Fircroft overseeing the veg harvest this morning! Lots of lovely stuff for some tasty autumnal meals there, and more apples ready to be cooked up into something delicious for the Fircroft Plantry shop.
We don't just share our grounds with all our wonderful students and staff, there's a whole host of wildlife passing through or making it home too, here's just a selection from recent years!

Growing our own #FircroftPlantry ginger crop! This one piece of ginger has sprouted four new plants to grow on to produce more ginger to harvest next year. Let's see what delicious recipes our kitchen can use this for, or maybe some ginger tea mixes?
