@power_ray Loving the books on Deliberate Soccer Practice, we regularly use them for youth football teams. Do you recommend any books for teaching pressing triggers in a team context? I was looking at Coaching Through Superiorities, but couldn't find whether this was a topic.

2024-04-20 The Fire-Dragons competed in the BBDFL "League Cup" quarter final vs a strong Salford Lads Club. Unfortunately, it wasn't to be. However, they managed to score and gave a good account against strong opposition.

2024-04-13 Saw the Fire-Dragons play in a Friendly vs a strong Salford Lads Club side. Fire-Dragons had some good opportunities in this game, but were unable to convert them. We also did not defend as well as we might and conceded too many goals.

Yesterday saw the Fire-Dragons play Monton Sports in the BBDFL Players Cup, 2nd round.
A master class from our captain, Sammo, saw him both score a penalty and save a penalty to win us the game.

Catch-up: AFC Monton Fire-Dragons played away to Atherton Cols in the BBDFL league on 23rd March. We will use the defeat to improve going forward.

Today saw the Fire-Dragons visit East Leigh for an early KO in the BBDFL. The game ended in a 4-1 win for the Fire-Dragons. Well done to all, especially to the parents who braved a windy and cold conditions

Update: 3rd Feb saw the Fire-Dragons in action at home in the BBDFL league against East Leigh Bolts. This was a close game on a tough pitch ending in a 2-3 loss.
Revive Mortgages MoTM was Leo 🏆. He has come on leaps and bounds and has great energy in the midfield

The 13th January saw the Fire-Dragons play East Leigh Bolts at home in the league. This was a tight game on a difficult pitch. Goals from both sides. In the end it was a 4-4 draw.

The 16th December saw the Fire-Dragons head to Little Lever FC. Fire-Dragons were able to quickly take control in this game in foggy conditions and a heavy pitch, ending up 5-1 winners.

Fire-Dragons have had 4 losses in the league, a win, and 2 draws, but the kids have kept their heads up and had some good performances. This Saturday we had a great result in the first round of the cup vs Atherton Cols.

On Saturday the Fire-Dragons played a late pre-season friendly vs East Leigh Bolts. It ended a 3-0 win, a very physical game. Fitness is looking good for this point in the season. Overall very positive.
