@cat5kable@SXR123 I need to clarify that yes I meant it relatively.
Like I wasn't expecting RWJ to pull off the look but he somehow did relative to the budget
@Silvers_D_Foxy I don't even hate Star Trek.
But there is a stark difference between looking at fantasy characters and looking at irl dudes from the 60s in colored shirts.
@maestrosmist Also nothing to be embarassed about. There are so many decision points thrusted upon the new player with the precon.
What matters is that your playgroup was able to help you along the way 👍
@maestrosmist It really didn't help that when I tried to show my friend who picked up the Cabaretti precon the Command Zone episode on it, for some reason it was a.....cEDH build for Phabine.
A very strange choice especially considering that they say that she's not good for cEDH anyway.
@bbygirlzuku The fact that you come up with a "Fat Deku" with his performance as the comparison point is a testament to how good his acting is

@Lananotdelry@33elkMTG Glad you got a lot of fun out of these precons 👍
Most of what I had to say came from my experience playing against a newcomer on Anhelo and from seeing my friend struggle with Phabinne
@Silent__92@33elkMTG They definitely learned over time with most of the precons going forward having commanders that set the goals in a more straightforward manner.
Or even if they're complicated, they're not game halteringly complicated.
@Silent__92@33elkMTG But yeah to close this out: the cards are not poorly designed or bad per se. They're just not the best face cards for their precons due to their overcomplexity.
@Silent__92@33elkMTG Now Henzie and Beamtown work very well with their precon since the gameplan is super straightforward. They tell you everything that the deck wants to do.
This is why Henzie's still popular today.
