FiredMikeThomas

Architect of the collapse of the Illini sports program.

[FiredMikeThomas @FireMikeThomas]

I will continue to be a fan and supporter of the men and women who wear the orange and blue. But I'll probably send my kids out of state.

[FiredMikeThomas @FireMikeThomas]

But I think my work here is done. Thanks to the few of you who took notice and agreed that Mike Thomas was the biggest problem of all.

[FiredMikeThomas @FireMikeThomas]

The failure is on an institutional level. That's why I took primary aim at Mike Thomas and not individual coaches. His hires haven't worked.

[FiredMikeThomas @FireMikeThomas]

I'm also not happy with the U of I either. Everyone is a damn interim, and for good reason. Emblematic of the entire State of Illinois.

[FiredMikeThomas @FireMikeThomas]

So would it bother me to blow the whole thing up and start over? No. Cubit, Groce, et al gone? Fine.

[FiredMikeThomas @FireMikeThomas]

And I lived through the 0-11 season in '97 - my senior year.

[FiredMikeThomas @FireMikeThomas]

I have been a follower of the #Illini since the '84 Rose Bowl team. Graduated in '98. Have never felt this dejected about the program.

[FiredMikeThomas @FireMikeThomas]

The whole athletic program has been in a decline. Have we hit rock bottom? I hope so. Need to trend upward and not just a dead cat bounce.

[FiredMikeThomas @FireMikeThomas]

It's hard to accept your alma mater is not one of the more desirable jobs out there. You can partially thank Mike Thomas for that. #Illini

[FiredMikeThomas @FireMikeThomas]

Remove the interim tag from Cubit? I don't know, man. I certainly find him more capable than Beckman but you could say that about anyone

[FiredMikeThomas @FireMikeThomas]

@jjhparker and a healthy dose of Ohio State fans today helped bump that # up

[FiredMikeThomas @FireMikeThomas]

@aroux94 You deserved better. But at least they didn't go 0-11 like they did my senior year

[FiredMikeThomas @FireMikeThomas]

No one's blaming the kids https://t.co/1RUsvETnor

[Jeremy Werner @JWerner247]

#illini Cubit: People are passionate but there's a lot of negativity out there. These kids are playing their butts of against a lot of odds.

[FiredMikeThomas @FireMikeThomas]

Fire the athletic department into the sun. Except for @deebrown11 of course https://t.co/bYBIMYqQem

[Chief Illiniwek @chiefilliniwek]

Illini lose to tOSU 28-3. A tough weekend for football and basketball.

[FiredMikeThomas @FireMikeThomas]

Just fire everybody, man.

[FiredMikeThomas @FireMikeThomas]

Oh dear lord...

[Trevor Vallese @TVallese]

The curse of Mike Thomas

[FiredMikeThomas @FireMikeThomas]

Ever. https://t.co/4iDtm0vb4g

[Matt Wettersten @MattWettersten]

North Florida went 17-33 from three. It is tied for the most 3's ever given up by an #Illini basketball team.

[FiredMikeThomas @FireMikeThomas]

@brandonmbender maybe I should use it to try to keep the next AD from firing Dee Brown.

[FiredMikeThomas @FireMikeThomas]

Cheers to finally shitcanning Mike Thomas! #Illini #FiredMikeThomas
