Recently got this treatment at Faysal Bank. But the boy was honest who told that they are forced to meet targets of opening current accounts.

He promized to help me open a savings account later without requiring my physical presence.

Ever gone to a bank to open a Savings Account, but the staff pushes you toward a Current Account instead?

It's not random. It's where banks make their real money.

Same PKR 100 Bn deposit. Same investments. Same returns.

Current Account → PKR 5.5 Bn profit
Savings Account → PKR 0.7 Bn profit

That's 8x more. Why? A Current Account pays you no interest, so it costs the bank nothing. A Savings Account does, so it eats into their profit.

Even as interest rates have nearly halved since 2023, bank profits stayed strong. The reason: more Current Accounts.

High rates help banks. But growing Current Accounts is what really drives their profits.

If you want to ruin your peace while banking in Pakistan, go for HBL. Over last 8 months, not even a single thing works without escalating it to their big boss. Bunch of duffers are enjoying a Sarkari style job protection in HBL!

On top, I'm still too naive to anticipate such fuck ups. I live in Germany and such things are very sensitive and put other person in trouble. I'm relearning the living style in Pakistan.

Your point is valid, the taxes abroad rewards their citizens with such great facilities that are unthinkable in Pakistan.

@Invest_Kardo @AmerSharifOFCL Nowhere in the world is CGT same as normal tax regime as world's richest control the governments and poor. In Germany, CGT is capped at 25% whereas Salary taxes easily go upto 48% for top earners.

@Akif_Iqbal_Ktk Data recovery not possible as it has been over-written by Windows. That over-writing has caused the most damage.
