BREAKING: The Orlando Magic have dismissed head coach Jamahl Mosley, sources tell ESPN. Mosley's tenure in Orlando finishes after five seasons, including three consecutive playoff runs from 2023 to 2026. Orlando had a first-round elimination for the third straight time Sunday.
Here's what I suspect is likely to happen this offseason.
- new coach (obvi)
- Jett is gone
- JI waived & stretched (8mil/7yrs)
- Moe re-signed relatively cheap (6-8/yr) later via bird rights
- AB extension (~Giddey numbers, ~25 mil/yr)
- draft 2nd round targeting a C
- Goga possibly moved to clear $$ or bring in a bench vet
- Cain retained for bench depth
Options to improve the bench
- Goga trade up to 125% (~9 mil)
- up to $7 million trade exception
- TMLE $5.7
- Vet mins
Some options - Middleton, Smart (PO), Melton (PO), Gillespie, Okogie,
Never been more convinced the media hates the Magic. No matter what they do, they find a way to spin it negatively. Disgusting & impressive at the same time.
We really do not need Jeff Weltmans comments on this season. 2 years ago vs CLE he watched Paolo single handily lead us to 7 games. We're in almost the same exact spot . Devos family you Maga frauds fire this loser and help our superstar
The rumor I got was correct - Weltman staying just signifies the further enshittification of this team and this franchise. Alex Martins is behind this - he will say he is not, but as usual he is lying.
How is a team president who has never won a playoff series in 8 years given a contract extension. This is exactly what Paolo was talking about. People too comfortable
“One of the best impacts you can make to a roster is a coaching change”
THEN WHY TF DIDNT YOU MAKE THE CHANGE DURING THE SEASON YOU STUPID FUCKING IDIOT
JB Bickerstaff on the Magic firing Jamahl Mosley
“Organizations obviously have the right to make their choices. I feel like this is a wrong choice, to be honest with you. Jamahl did a heck of a job of taking that organization and that team from lottery to playoff team, year in, year out. I don't think there's been a team whose star players have been injured more than his star players were injured. And for him to be able to hold the ship down and make it to the playoffs year in, year out says a lot about his ability to coach team, build character, develop players, and create culture and environment. So I know he'll get a job, and the next job, whatever franchise he goes to will be better off for it.”

News: #Magic president of basketball operations Jeff Weltman agreed to a contract extension with the franchise during the regular season, a league source confirmed to the @orlandosentinel.
@JoshuaBRobbins first on the news.
The Orlando Magic really extended their GM in private so they wouldn't have to hear the back lash from fans. Mickey Mouse organization and we will never win anything as long as the terrorist Devos family has the power of this team.
