Some more interesting stuff from the Da Vinci interview with Apothecary Diaries author Natsu Hyuuga:

She started writing Apothecary Diaries after the [Great East Japan Earthquake].
At that time, fantasy reincarnation stories (isekai) were popular but she wanted to write a different story than others.

She liked Ken'ichi Sakemi (harem) novel, and also mentioned getting influenced by manga Dorohedoro (Q Hayashida)
