What a day! Yesterday, 21 students from eight area schools joined us for Cooperative Youth Day in Columbus. From learning how co-ops power our communities to meeting state leaders—and even a surprise Q&A with Gov. DeWine—it was a day packed with learning and fun! MYTH: If you turn off an appliance, it stops using any electricity.

FACT: Not necessarily. Many electronic devices and appliances still draw a small amount of energy when they are only turned off by a switch. The best way to put a stop to this "phantom power" is to unplug devices that are not being used.
