#RedSox Jim Rice made one of the greatest defensive plays in MLB history, 42 years ago today on Aug. 7, 1982, climbing into the stands at Fenway Park, rushing to the aid of four-year old Jonathan Keane, who had been struck in the face with a line drive, carrying him into the dugout and ensuring that he received immediate medical attention. Keane required emergency surgery but would make a full recovery, and to this day, the family believes that his life was saved by Rice that day.
