On the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day, I join the global community in raising awareness about the dangers of Tuberculosis and reaffirming our commitment to ending its spread.
As First Lady of Jigawa State, I emphasize that Tuberculosis remains a serious but preventable and curable disease when detected early. This day provides an important opportunity to encourage our communities to seek timely medical care, support those undergoing treatment, and promote accurate information that will help reduce stigma.
I call on community leaders, healthcare workers, and citizens across Jigawa State to strengthen awareness efforts and encourage individuals experiencing symptoms such as persistent cough, fever, night sweats, or weight loss to visit the nearest health facility for screening and treatment. Early diagnosis and adherence to medication are essential to saving lives and preventing transmission.
Together, through collective action, sustained advocacy, and improved healthcare services, we can reduce the burden of Tuberculosis and move closer to a healthier, TB-free society.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of distributing Ramadan food support to about six hundred (600) people in Jigawa State as part of our efforts to support vulnerable members of our communities during this blessed month of Ramadan.
During the distribution, I encouraged the beneficiaries to make good use of the items and embrace the true spirit of Ramadan — a time of compassion, generosity, and care for one another. It is my sincere hope that this support will help ease the burden on families and allow them to observe the holy month with comfort and dignity.
I also prayed that Almighty Allah grants everyone a safe return to their homes and counts us among those who will receive His mercy and be among the freed servants in this blessed month.
I sincerely appreciate the good people of Jigawa State for their continued unity, cooperation, and unwavering support at all times. Your encouragement and prayers inspire us to continue serving our communities.

Women play a vital role in building strong families, communities, and nations. Their courage, leadership, and determination continue to inspire progress and development across Jigawa State and Nigeria.
As we reflect on this year’s theme, “Rights. Equality. Empowerment. For All Women and Girls,” we are reminded that empowering women is not only a matter of justice but also a key driver of sustainable development.
Let us continue to support and uplift women and girls by creating opportunities that allow them to thrive, lead, and contribute meaningfully to society.
Happy International Women’s Day to all the incredible women making a difference every day.

As we mark Cervical Cancer Awareness, I appeal to parents, caregivers, and community leaders across Jigawa State to help protect the health and future of our women and girls.
Cervical cancer can be prevented. The HPV vaccine is safe and effective, and when given early, it protects our girls. Regular screening also helps with early detection and treatment, which saves lives.
I encourage parents to ensure that eligible girls receive the HPV vaccine, and I urge women to make use of screening services available in our health facilities. Prevention today means healthier families and stronger communities tomorrow.
As the First Lady of Jigawa State, I remain committed to supporting programmes that promote women’s health and increase awareness through collaboration with health workers, traditional rulers, and religious leaders.
Let us all play our part.
Get informed. Get screened. Get vaccinated.

Yesterday, I had the honour of attending the graduation ceremony of students of Sheikh Ja’afar Adam Foundation in Kazaure, where 150 students successfully completed the memorisation of the Holy Qur’an within one year.
I reminded the graduands that memorising the Qur’an is a great blessing from Allah, and that beyond memorisation, their lives and character should reflect the teachings and values of the Holy Qur’an.
I sincerely commend the teachers of the school, particularly the head of the institution, Sheikh Dr. Abdulladir Saleh Kazaure, for their dedication and the remarkable work being carried out by the Markaz under his leadership.
I also used the opportunity to encourage parents to remain committed to providing their children with sound Islamic education, reminding us all that children are a trust from Allah, and that we will be held accountable for how we nurture and guide them.
I was pleased to note the presence of the respected Islamic scholar, Sheikh Kabiru Gombe, whose attendance further added value to the programme.
I was accompanied by the wife of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, the wife of the Secretary to the State Government, wives of commissioners, wives of local government chairmen, and other wives of senior government officials.

Condolence Visit in Kiyawa Local Government Area
Earlier today, I was in Kiyawa Local Government Area of Jigawa State to commiserate with the families and communities affected by the tragic road accident that occurred in Dutse, which claimed the lives of 22 people.
This painful loss has deeply saddened us all. I personally expressed my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families on behalf of the Government and people of Jigawa State. During the visit, we prayed for the departed souls, asking Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive their shortcomings, grant them His mercy, and admit them into Aljannatul Firdausi. MY COMMITMENT TO THE CARE AND DIGNITY OF OUR ELDERLY
Today, Tuesday, I had the privilege of distributing a total sum of Fifty Million Naira (₦50,000,000) to 250 elderly men and women across Jigawa State. Each beneficiary received Two Hundred Thousand Naira (₦200,000) as part of our sustained commitment to supporting and uplifting our senior citizens.
During the interaction, I reminded our elderly parents of the high value Islam places on caring for and honoring them, drawing lessons from the Holy Qur’an and the teachings of the Prophet (SAW). I encouraged the beneficiaries to utilize this support wisely to meet their daily needs, ease their burdens, and improve their overall quality of life.
This initiative is inspired by the compassion and vision of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, whose dedication to social welfare continues to inspire similar interventions across the nation. It also reflects our administration’s strong belief that the true measure of any society lies in how it treats its most vulnerable members.
I sincerely appreciate the sacrifices and invaluable contributions our elderly parents have made in building our communities and nurturing future generations. Their wisdom, resilience, and lifelong dedication remain pillars of our collective progress.
This disbursement marks the third phase of this support program, reaffirming our unwavering resolve to continuously promote the welfare, dignity, and wellbeing of the elderly in Jigawa State.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders, partners, and distinguished guests who honored this occasion with their presence and continue to support our shared mission of compassion, inclusion, and social responsibility.

Wednesday will forever remain a memorable and deeply meaningful day in my life, for my family, and for the wonderful people of our beloved state.
I had the honour of being recognized as the National Ummul Aytam — the Mother of Orphans of Nigeria.
This prestigious recognition was conferred by the National Orphans Qur’anic Recitation Competition Council.
I accept this honour with profound humility and gratitude. Caring for orphans is not just an obligation—it is a calling, a responsibility, and a sacred trust from Almighty Allah. Every effort we make in supporting orphans is an investment in their dignity, their future, and the future of our dear nation.
Over the years, we have remained committed to uplifting the lives of orphans through educational materials, school uniforms, personal essentials, mentorship, and programmes designed to give them hope and opportunity. Just last month, I had the privilege of sponsoring the State Orphans Qur’anic Recitation Competition held in our state capital—an event that brought joy, inspiration, and encouragement to many young children.
I sincerely appreciate the Council for recognizing these efforts and deeming them worthy of this national honour. I am equally grateful to everyone who has supported our initiatives, believed in our mission, and walked with us on this journey of compassion.
My commitment remains unwavering: to continue serving, advocating for, and supporting orphans across Nigeria with love, empathy, and dedication.
May Almighty Allah guide us, strengthen us, and reward every act of kindness.
Amin.

TODAY, WE MADE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF 250 JIGAWA CITIZENS.
This afternoon, 250 persons with special needs from across our dear state received a total support package of ₦50 million. Each beneficiary was given ₦200,000 to help them start something meaningful or strengthen the small work they are already doing.
My message to them was simple: use this support to build something that will last — something that can grow with them and help them stand strong and independent. I also assured them that this is only the first step. More programmes and plans are already in place to support their progress in the months ahead.
This intervention was carried out under the Renewed Hope Initiative, and I sincerely appreciate the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her vision, inspiration, and commitment to uplifting vulnerable groups across the country. Her leadership continues to open doors of opportunity for countless families.
My heartfelt appreciation also goes to the Governor of Jigawa State, My dear husband, His Excellency Malam Umar A. Namadi, FCA, for his constant support, guidance, and dedication to the well-being of our people. His encouragement gives strength to every programme we deliver.
The event was graced by amazing women who continue to stand with us — the Wife of the Speaker, Hajiya Zarau Haruna Aliyu; the Wife of the Secretary to the State Government, Hajiya Amina Bala Ibrahim; the Executive Secretary, Rehabilitation Board, Alhaji Sale Zakar; Dr. Haruna Mai Riga, Special Adviser on Social Security; wives of Commissioners; wives of Honourable Members; wives of District Heads; and representatives of various women groups.
Our commitment remains the same: to build a Jigawa where nobody is left behind, and where every person — regardless of ability — has the chance to live with dignity and hope.

I renew my strong commitment to ending Gender-Based Violence in Jigawa State. Every woman and every girl deserves a life free from fear, and filled with dignity, respect, and opportunity.
Today, I call on families, community leaders, institutions, and partners to stand together in raising awareness, supporting survivors, and promoting prevention at every level.
By working hand in hand, we can build a safer, more just, and more compassionate Jigawa State where women and girls thrive and their rights are fully protected.
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.
With a heart filled with sorrow and total submission to the will of Allah, I extend my deepest condolences to the family of Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, the good people of Bauchi State, the entire Nigeria, and the Muslim community across the world on the passing of this great and revered scholar.
Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi was not only a towering figure of Islamic knowledge, but a guiding light whose humility, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to the Qur’an touched millions of lives. His teachings nurtured generations, his voice inspired righteousness, and his leadership strengthened unity, peace, and spiritual growth across our nation.
His passing is truly a monumental loss — to scholars, students, leaders, and all who benefited from his wisdom. Yet, we are comforted by the knowledge that he lived a noble life entirely dedicated to the service of Allah, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to guide and inspire.
I pray that Allah (SWT) grants him Jannatul Firdaus, forgives his shortcomings, and rewards him abundantly for his countless contributions to Islam.
May Allah comfort his family, strengthen the Muslim Ummah, and grant patience to all who mourn him across Nigeria and the world.
Ameen.

TO THE RESILIENT AND COURAGEOUS PEOPLE OF KEBBI STATE,
In this moment of sorrow and uncertainty, I extend my deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to every family, every mother, every father, and every child affected by the recent tragic events in your state.

Nigeria today is facing a serious waste management crisis, driven largely by environmental mismanagement and poor waste disposal practices.
In response to this, the Environmental Club and Environmental Society have launched an advocacy initiative aimed at promoting a cleaner, greener environment while engaging students in environmental decision-making and leadership. Our students must be encouraged to take ownership of their environment and lead the charge in keeping it clean, safe, and sustainable for all.
This initiative focuses on reducing waste through reuse and recycling, and on instilling responsible environmental values among our young people. Our students must rise to the occasion and take their rightful place at the forefront of building a cleaner and healthier society.
I strongly believe that when young people are empowered with the right knowledge and orientation, they become powerful agents of change. This initiative is not just about environmental sanitation, it is about shaping a new generation with a deep sense of responsibility towards our environment.
This effort is driven by Ministry of Environment, in collaboration with the RHI, as part of our collective commitment to sustainability and environmental preservation.
Together, we can build a cleaner Jigawa and contribute to a greener Nigeria.

Today, we join the global community to commemorate the Cervical Cancer Elimination Day of Action—a day dedicated to raising awareness, strengthening advocacy, and accelerating efforts toward ending cervical cancer as a public health threat.
Here in Jigawa State, we remain firmly committed to safeguarding the health and future of our women and girls. Cervical cancer is preventable, and one of the most effective tools we have is the HPV vaccine. Through collaboration with key partners, health workers, youth volunteers, and community leaders, Jigawa has continued to make remarkable progress in expanding access to this life-saving vaccine.
As we observe this important day, I call on all parents, guardians, community influencers, and young leaders to continue promoting the HPV vaccination. Let us ensure that every eligible girl receives the vaccine and is protected from this preventable disease. Together, we must amplify our awareness campaigns, share accurate information, and dispel myths that hinder vaccine uptake.
Our commitment as First Ladies, and as mothers of the nation, is to ensure that no woman or girl suffers from a disease we have the power to prevent. With sustained action, we can achieve a future where cervical cancer is no longer a threat to any family in Jigawa State and across Nigeria.
I thank all stakeholders for their unwavering dedication, especially our Youth Engagement (YEs) teams for their continuous advocacy and community mobilization.
Together, we will eliminate cervical cancer and secure a healthier, brighter future for our daughters.

Yesterday, we took a bold and impactful step as we distributed over 10,000 sanitary pads to female secondary school students in our state.
Girls’ education remains one of the most crucial pillars for the development of any community. When our girls are educated, empowered, and healthy, the future of our state becomes brighter, stronger, and more prosperous. This is why we continue to place young girls at the heart of our initiatives—ensuring they have the support, dignity, and resources they need to pursue their dreams confidently.
During the program, I encouraged all the students to stay focused, work hard, and remain committed to their studies. The Jigawa State Government is doing everything necessary to improve the quality of education, and we will continue to invest in their growth, wellbeing, and success.
We were honored by the presence of the Honorable Commissioner of Education and his team, the wife of the Secretary to the State Government, wives of members of the State House of Assembly, wives of Local Government Chairmen, the Governor’s aides, and many other government officials who joined us to show their support and solidarity.
Finally, we express our heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency, Malam Umar A. Namadi, FCA, the Executive Governor of Jigawa State—my beloved husband—for his unwavering support and encouragement throughout this milestone. His commitment to uplifting education and improving the welfare of our youth remains a source of inspiration for all of us.
May Almighty Allah continue to bless our dear state and Nigeria as a whole.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of leading the Global Handwashing Day celebration in Dundubus, Dutse Local Government Area.
The event was organized to create awareness on the importance of regular handwashing and to highlight how this simple act can prevent the spread of infectious diseases and promote healthier communities.
Earlier, I had directed the wives of local government chairmen across Jigawa State to organize similar sensitization activities in their respective local government areas. This collective effort is aimed at ensuring that every household, school, and public institution embraces the habit of proper hand hygiene.
During my remarks, I encouraged students, parents, teachers, and community members to always keep their hands clean and make handwashing a daily routine. I also shared Qur’anic verses and Hadiths that emphasize the importance of cleanliness in Islam, reminding everyone that cleanliness is part of faith.
As part of the demonstration, I personally washed my hands before the audience to show, practically, the correct way to wash hands and to lead by example.
I was joined at the event by the wife of the Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, the wife of the Dutse Local Government Chairman, the wives of the Commissioners for Budget and Works, the wife of the Accountant-General, and several other government officials.
Together, we reaffirmed our commitment to promoting hygiene, good health, and community awareness across Jigawa State. I believe that by embracing cleanliness and hand hygiene, we can protect our families and build a healthier, stronger future for our children.
