@DawnwalkerGame "Coen’s story will continue..."
It didn't even begin yet! This is absolute bs releasing this trailer before the game is even out. Now I'm pretty much questioning wheter to even play this game, if this is the direction they will go with.
Translation: We want to replace Kratos but we want to see just how much we can get away with first. This is what happens when corporations are allowed to own art..of any kind.
Someone in the board room said "we need higher sales, we need women to buy GoW. We already have the men and they aren't going anywhere". So the decision was made to soften GoW and this was the objective for the last two games. Don't think for a minute this recent announcement is when it began. When the public hears about these changes, the decisions were likely made a year or two ago.
So they saw that the 2018 GoW with softer Kratos wasn't immediately rejected so that means they can continue. Next game "Bow to your queen" Freya was the test run to see just how much female empowerment you would accept. It made less sales but still acceptable and that gave them permission to move forward with this abomination.
You get whatever you allow them to get away with. So what's the plan? If sales are poor for this game then they will step back and say this was just a fun little spin off and that Atreus was the plan. Then they will put all their effort into the soyest "new" God of War you've ever seen. But they'll keep Kratos in the background to dangle in front of you whenever sales start looking a little low. In the same way CDPR pulled out the Geralt will still be around card when they saw the backlash.
That is the fate of your male characters. A background character in the franchise they built, so the "strong" women can be the face. Let these franchises die. They hate men and they hate masculinity. Do not reward ppl that hate you
Amazon cancelled the new Stargate show.
The rumor is that the show writer, Martin Gero, would not budge on compromising lore or elements within the show for a "wider modern audience" as they did with Rings of Power for LoTR lore.
Martin Gero wanted to create a show that maintained continuity in the story and lore of the old shows, including the mythology and tech, while respecting the 17 seasons of history.
Amazon instead wanted something new for the "modern audience" that's more accessible, reimagined, with more modern casual sensibilities.
Because the showrunners wanted to maintain integrity rather than turn Stargate into another "modern audience slop" like Rings of Power, Amazon leadership canceled it. The franchise heavyweight, like Joseph Mallozzi, was very excited for the fresh stories Gero worked on. Amazon says they are still open to Stargate, just not "this" version... yes they wanted to Rings of Powerify Stargate.
We really can't hate these people enough.
Violenta. Agressiva. Descontrolada. E aí isso vira ‘’força feminina’’.

The same ideology that produced The Rings of Power and the new Star Trek TV output. Self insert characters, a disdain for established IP fans, they believe the market exists for this kind of stuff, yet failure after failure proves otherwise, but they cannot be reasoned with.
The Variety article states that someone from MGM/Amazon says they would like to "try again" and develop a show with people who have no connection at all with the original IP.
From what Joe has said is that the project developed by the team was both accessible to newcomers with strong connections to the previous shows, a continuation of that world, ready for new viewers to discover and old fans to revisit.
Which will no doubt mean that the show lacked certain "modern audience" requirements from the studio and more likely had competent well written characters and not a bunch of "types" inserted to fulfil tick box exercises.
I've no clue if I'm right or not, but that is the impression I get from the coverage, and I wouldn't expect anyone involved to tell me if I'm correct or not. But to just shout "Capitalism" shows you've not been paying any attenton to scifi fandom and culture for the last 10 years.
Sadly, it's true. Amazon has elected not to move forward with the new Stargate series.
There's not much I can add beyond confirming what's happened. But I will say this...
Creator Martin Gero developed a new Stargate series over two years, ultimately crafting a show that offered a fresh jumping-on point for new viewers while deeply respecting existing canon. It was a series that avoided the pitfalls of several modern remakes and reboots by fully embracing the core of its predecessors: action, adventure, exploration, wonder, heart, humor, and found family. And based on that creative vision, the new Stargate series was greenlit in November of 2025.
As of today, officially, that original vision is no more. We'll never get the opportunity to introduce you to that world and those characters - or reintroduce you to, and check in with, some familiar faces from the past.
My heart breaks. For the incredibly talented writers who worked tirelessly to bring this show to life. For Martin who maintained an unwavering positive outlook throughout despite the challenges, and who always strove to make a show that would honor the fans while welcoming a new audiences. And for the long-suffering Stargate fandom who waited so long and came so close to getting a show they truly would have loved.
It’s two minutes to midnight. The time for talking is over; the time for action is now. That’s why we are presenting the first-ever patriotic European Citizens’ Initiative: the @SaveEuropeAct.
Acknowledging the ethnocultural continuity of Europe’s peoples as crucial for the preservation of Europe, we demand an immediate and total halt to immigration and the creation of a comprehensive European Remigration system.
To achieve that, we need your help. With a million signatures, the European Commission must meet with us face-to-face and take a stance on remigration and the future of Europe as a whole.

> Announce the long-awaited remake of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag
> Everyone gets hyped for Edward Kenway’s return
> Graphics look great, naval combat feels improved
> Then start "modernizing" everything nobody asked for
> Remove the bottle from drunk Edward’s loading screen - now he’s just sober with shaky cam
> Anne Bonny’s iconic cleavage? Gone, now she’s modest
> Blood in the game? Heavily toned down
> Hunting animals? Turned into a boring 40-hit grind
> Hidden blade in combat? Only for finishers now
> Modern day story? Heavily shortened
You took one of the most beloved games in the series
and "fixed" all the things that actually made it fun.
The game most fans were waiting years for… and you somehow made it less enjoyable.
You think this is "respecting modern audiences" or just pointless censorship and creative laziness?
Ubisoft just can't help themselves... They not only CENSORED the female NPCs in the Black Flack Remake, but went out of the way to make them fat and ugly. Nothing is sacred.

CRUNCHYROLL’S INVISIBLE CURTAIN EXPOSED
Crunchyroll is geo-blocked in Japan.
Japanese fans literally CANNOT access it.
So the West can rewrite subtitles, censor content, and push anti-male dubs, and Japan never sees it.
As a former Bungie dev and current indie dev.. let me explain how it actually is:
You have every right to hate any game, and complain about any company, for any reason.
If you want to hate Halo, cool. If you wanna hate my new indie game.. go right ahead. I can take it 🫡
