Marion Technical Institute's First Responder program prepares high school students to enter public safety careers in firefighting, EMS, and 911 Dispatch.
It was fun collaborating with Mrs. Smith and her Forest High School Criminal Justice students. They encountered a barricaded subject, negotiated with him, then made entry to secure the premises. Fire/EMS was on standby. Excellent work by all!
What an AMAZING day with our students. A full day putting all their skills together in multiple exercises. Great training, mentorship, and teamwork. Thank you OFR, OPD, MCFR, and program graduates for your generous assistance. Students learned so much and had a blast doing it!
Gracie was invited to Lake Weir High School today to meet students getting ready for final testing. She recently passed her testing as a therapy dog and is receiving her certification. She had so much fun with the students. Gracie became a star as word passed through the school.
MTI students in the OPD Mentorship program had the opportunity to ride with officers as they drove through their driver training course. Our students were very excited to participate in this rare opportunity. Thank you @ocalapd!
Return on investment. Captain Kraft has been volunteering in the classroom teaching students what he has learned at the Florida State Fire College. Thank you captain for giving back and mentoring our future career academy students!
SB 1054, requiring a stand-alone personal financial literacy course as a graduation requirement for all Florida students, HAS BEEN SIGNED!

Here is an amazing young man. This is JC, a natural leader in his class. He frequently encourages his fellow students to push themselves farther than they thought possible. JC has a huge heart, a dynamite personality, and he is bright. He will go on to do great things!
It's a happy day to see our MTI Ignite students bonding and working together for a common goal. We have some amazing students this year and I couldn't be more happy about how far they have come since the first of the year. You are all amazing! @TechnicalMarion
