@ERSANlTY@kgriffinburner6 Since the start of last year , 222 games and 900+ PA he’s 7th in baseball in fWAR (8.4) w/ an above average wOBA of .333 and xWOBA of .331
You’ve all been cooked lol. He’s a legit star w/ plus power and generational CF defense.
@bryarea@ABartholomew_05 And start getting gains from some of the arms already here. Like for example, what can we do w/ Peguero to tweak something and get more whiffs? What can we do to get Birdsong around the plate more often? Small wins like that. Then think about adding w/ capital.
@bryarea@ABartholomew_05 Even on the lower tier types like Ty Rog and Helsey, it’s such a gamble because relievers are so volatile. They tried that w/ Ty’s brother and Puke Jackson. Both failed(Taylor less so..but not great).
1st order of business for me is building a pitching brain trust/lab whatever.
@NCSTl_ Getting absolutely nothing from Bednar/Crawford in back to back years is the big tell, but even down the draft only developing Roupp and to an extent McDonald is a huge black eye.
They found zero relievers from 19-25 so far basically.
@NCSTl_ I’m gonna write an effort post about this soon. The biggest reason why the bullpen sucks is how badly the pitching picks have been combined w/ zero development.
The dodgers have 9 guys at a time ready to blow people away from the farm and we have no one.
@ColeSmith78@FAorthopod@JackLoder_ They made a lot of bad decisions on the pen. Traded Teng for a nobody and spent more on Brubaker. But I also think that if guys weren’t overused that one of them might get on a roll. Killian before Colorado was pretty good. Mostly they need strike throwers at this point.
@ColeSmith78@FAorthopod@JackLoder_ Literally never said that lol. All I said was that Vitello has constantly chased innings, left starters in too long, and curiously uses Keaton Winn as if he’s prime Mariano Rivera.
pen stinks, but the performance would be better from all of them if the manager was more strategic
