🌿 ENTER LENT 🌿
Join us for worship, prayer & communion as we begin the Lenten season. Rooted in the historic Ash Wednesday liturgy (without ashes), in a contemporary worshipful environment.

Let’s step into Lent together!
Come celebrate Christmas Eve with us! Join us for a candlelit service with scripture reading, prayer, singing and the Eucharist, as we thank God for the salvation He’s offered through the birth, life, death, resurrection, ascension and coming return of Jesus Christ.
Join us as we begin our study into the the Book of Exodus this Sunday. This new series will take us well into 2024. Pastor Jay is excited to be “Reintroducing Almighty God” to our @FirstWego family.
Join us tomorrow for a special Christmas service at 11am! We’ll be celebrating the birth of Christ by reading through the Christmas story, singing together, lighting the final advent candle and more. Hope to see you there!
God used an angel to prepare Mary for joy and peace which would be presented to the world through her. Join us tomorrow as we consider Mary’s perspective and response to this great calling. https://t.co/CoMrkIn3Db

P.s. Thanks @sendrelief for resources for moments like these. We are better together. #GreatCommissionBaptists
In moments like these, the church MUST remember that prayer is not a last resort... it's one of the primary means by which the God of the universe chooses to commune with His people. He hears our prayers. Let's commit to #PrayForUkraine.
In the following tweet, we've listed two @sendrelief links. The first is a link to financially support our SBC relief efforts in Ukraine and the other is a link to a prayer guide. Please make use of these resources as we seek to glorify God in even these heartbreaking moments.
You’re invited to our Annual Celebration of the Arts taking place 6pm Sunday. God is the Greatest of all Creators & Chief Artist of the universe & we enjoying gathering to celebrate the communicable attribute of creativity as we mirror his creativity through visual & musical art.
Join us Sunday morning at 10:30 am as we consider the crowds that followed Jesus and learn the names of the 12 men Jesus called to follow him. Seriously, we’re gonna memorize their names together. “TikTok and the Twelve” on Tap.
I’m looking forward to speaking to our local BCM kiddos tonight. We have Tulane, Loyola, Delgado, UNO & Leavell College students who attend @FirstWego & we love our college students!!! Big thanks to Gary Mire & Ditali’s Italian Cafe for providing dinner.
… If you are interested in sending a mission team to be hosted and sent out by FirstWego, visit https://t.co/XNmThuOyar, fill out our interest form and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
Just welcomed an AL DR chainsaw unit to our facilities to be housed for the next few days. As this & other DR teams begin to make their way into our community let’s pray for 1) safety on the job, 2) opportunities for gospel conversations & 3) the heart of Christ to be shown…
We will do our best to get it up at both our church website as well as on our Facebook and YouTube pages. We will attempt to have those videos up by 9 am but please be patient with us. We’re not even sure if we will be able to upload them yet.
From Pastor @_JayAdkins ...
I want to let you know that we, of course, will not have our normal worship service tomorrow (Sep 5th). I am also canceling the following week's service (Sep 12th).
I know that we are supposed to have power by the 8th but I figure one more week off will allow others to get some work done around their home if you are back by then. With those cancellations, I intend to post a short devotional video tomorrow and then again next Sunday.
