When I saw the photo, I couldn't resist tweeting. It touched the core of my heart somewhere. The picture features two very fine officers, professionals and human beings par excellence: Gen Rajesh Pushkar and Brig Kadyan. However, the most special element in this picture is the table in the office of the 2 Corps Commander which is Gen Pushkar himself at Ambala, which is a replica of a tank. Both officers are tank men, from the Cavalry Armoured Corps. The most remarkable feature of the table is a number written in black in the centre. Although I am not entirely certain, this number likely represents the tank assigned to Gen Pushkar when he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant. Ladies and gentlemen, one must understand how the army functions: when you become an officer and join your unit, there is no fancy car, office, or peon waiting for you. What awaits you is your troop, which is nothing but a body of soldiers with three tanks and smaller fighting units in tank warfare. As an officer, you are given command of a tank, for which you are responsible for its maintenance and upkeep. You keep records of various maintenance activities, running, oil changes, etc. The point is, you are supposed to master your tank and know it inside out—that's the army way of life. The general, who is a corps commander and a significant figure, still keeps this tank number to remind himself and the troops he commands that his priorities lie in the fundamentals of soldiering, and he expects the same from his troops. That's where the adage came from, a picture is worth a thousand words.

The news reported that silver antiques were stolen from the officers' mess of 14 Dogra, but they have since been recovered. The culprits turned out to be the "Agnivir" on mess duty of the unit. Such incidents were unheard of in earlier times. I won't make this too long, but I want to let the nation know that your Army units are not just ordinary units—they are reservoirs of priceless antiques that cannot be valued in monetary terms. The money the government plans to save through Agnivir could end up costing it dearly. This isn't just about the Army; it's about the nation's priceless heritage.

I am a firm believer in what my father used to say, " Soldier should talk less and must fade away..". Brigadier Chandan Singh or Gen Sagat Singh or Hanut Singh never wrote a book themselves.

Colonel Ankush Chaudhary, the commanding officer of the Engineer Regiment, was tasked with proposing the construction of fencing along the Line of Control (LOC) to prevent infiltration, especially in light of the recent attack in Pahalgam. However, the Assistant Defence Estate Officer (ADEO) was refusing to sign the board proceedings necessary for the project. As the presiding officer, Colonel Chaudhary went to the ADEO's office personally to address the situation. Unfortunately, ADEO Triyam Singh not only refused to cooperate but also misbehaved with the commanding officer, even going so far as to assault Colonel Chaudhary.

In response, the valiant Sikh soldiers of the Engineer Regiment retaliated, giving Singh a taste of his own medicine. The Defence Estate Office (DEO) within the Ministry of Defence is known for its corruption and often tries to stall projects in exchange for bribes.
