@UnionJacked__ It’s pure envy. An extra £20b would disappear into the government machine and benefit exactly no one other than a few new civil servants to make spreadsheets on why we’re all so poor.
@samuel_leeds@haidar_bassim@channelstv@garyseconomics It’s pure envy politics. Even if this were introduced, and no one did anything to mitigate, how people think giving the gv’ment more money is somehow going to make them better off is beyond me. The government has never had more income as it does now, and the country is a disgrace
@21luckyforsome Working parents get 30 hours so they can…. Go to work… that’s a good use of state funds.
30 free hours so people can go to B&M&watch loose woman… is not a good use of state funds.
@DianaJA76@garyseconomics It’s not the Rich. It’s the government. Less tax. Less regulation. More money for people, more growth for the economy. Better off everyone is.
@AaronBastani Say this was instilled and no one did anything to mitigate it. It would just about cover the annual ADHD bill. If people did leave to mitigate it, we’d lose about 24% of the NHS annual budget.
It is claptrap.
@DanielPriestley@garyseconomics It’s the government. It’s always been the government. Too much tax, too much regulation, too much involvement in people’s lives. Out parents lives in a world of 8% tax and the only time you came into contact with the government was the post office.
Just leave us alone
@RITB_ 20 seconds on your profile and I can see I’m never getting a nuanced debate from you.
And people 100% live off state hand outs for bullshit illnesses.
@TobyDurant@Bozenka_2023 Yeah you’re right in fairness, that comment probably counts as all of those things in one way or another, such is the world we live in.
@TheMeldrew@niktharrison I didn’t see a question. Regardless, you seem an honest chap, and exactly the case that the system should support. Problem is it’s being exploited on a huge scale. Jumping through hoops to claim money should be a thing. Is in every other part of life.
@niktharrison@TheMeldrew If my whole life income depended on weeding out people who were gaming a system I relied on to live I think I’d support any help to do that.
You’ll be the one bitching on twitter when benefits are slashed for everyone and those that really need it suffer.
But you do you
