Saskatchewan teachers have sent a strong message to the government.
🔸The STF bargaining committee is the voice of teachers. #WeAreSTF.
🔸We are united in our fight to protect & strengthen public education.
🔸We expect the government to finally start negotiating.

Taya Thomas lost her daughter last year.
This is how Moe’s Education Minister responded.
When the Sask. Party shows you who they are - believe them.

STF president Samantha Becotte says they asked the province to include a line at the request of the STF that the funding agreement would be binding.
Says there were a few back and forth conversations but they were given a NO shortly after noon
If Scott Moe won’t even agree to this soft language in the teachers’ contract it means he has no intention of keeping the funding in place. NONE. He wants that money to give to Sask Party corporate donors, not for educating our kids and grandkids.
“The parties agree that the Multi-Year Funding Agreement and the accountability framework will be followed and honoured.”
The Sask Party doesn’t want this line.
Ask yourself why?
IMO They are happy to write an accountability framework but have no intention of honouring it.
This should say it all right here - if they won't promise to make the funding agreement with the school boards binding, its clear they have no intentions of keeping that money on the table post election.
If the government is so committed to this funding, then why are they so resistant to include one line in contract that holds them accountable to providing it? #wearestf
The one line that they asked to include was: “The parties agree that the multi-year funding agreement and the accountability framework will be followed and honoured”
Why was the answer no? Why are we at a standstill over govt and funding accountability?
Sask Party. That’s why.
@AlexanderQuon STF is asking that ONE SENTENCE be included in the collective agreement:
“The parties agree that the Multi-Year Funding Agreement and the accountability framework will be followed and honoured.”
@SaskParty refusal = corruption! #TimeToGoMoe#WeAreSTF#saskpartycorruption
Teachers asked for one line. Instead, government refused to include *their own accountability framework* in the teacher contract.
It's clear: This government has no interest in funding public education.

Did you know the PST today is effectively 4% higher than it was under the NDP, when it was as low as 5%?
With over $1.5 billion more collected each year in PST, our government has made Saskatchewan a lot more unaffordable.
We’ve sneakily expanded the PST onto dozens of items.

No matter what happens tomorrow, remember that government sat on the sidelines for months saying "no". That's how we got here. Our kids matter and that's why size and complexity must be in the contract.
Another budget that fails workers. If Scott Moe won’t do his job, it’s time we find him a new one. ➡️Watch CUPE Saskatchewan President Kent Peterson’s response. #skpoli#skbudget2024#canlab
Fact check!!!
We said it’s an interesting start, and we look forward to discussing it at the table … not what I would consider “laughed off”.
The Minister of Ed continues to spend more time making up lies instead of seeking solutions. Any sanctions are a result of his choices.
190,000+ emails and phone calls have been made calling on this government to engage in meaningful negotiations around classroom complexity. Not back door deals, not empty promises. Real commitments to teachers.
Why won’t you listen?
Despite 52,000 calls and emails, government isn't listening to parents who want better for their kids.
