The 2028 presidential race changed in a big way last night in the first-in-the-nation caucus state of Iowa, as Trump’s pick for Governor lost.
Remarkably, this is the first Trump-endorsed candidate to lose their primary this year, as independent-minded Iowans chose first-time candidate Zach Lahn over establishment-favored Congressman Randy Feenstra in the GOP primary for Governor.
This has huge implications for 2028. It shows Iowans won’t blindly accept Trump’s endorsement, but will make up their own minds. And they’re willing to embrace new candidates with a different vision for how government should work.
Game on!
I think this is ultimately about the war with Iran. A lot of Americans were drawn to Trump’s campaign rhetoric, where he would call for no new wars and point out the consequences of past intervention in the Middle East. Then he got cozy with Lindsey Graham and things changed. While I expect House democrats to impeach Trump at their first opportunity, I don’t think they’ll have the votes in the Senate to remove Trump from office, particularly if Trump finds a way to end the Iran war soon.
Knocking @RepThomasMassie out of Congress will prove to be a Pyrrhic victory for Trump and his swamp buddies. This completes the destruction of the coalition that elected him, and cements a democrat landslide in November and his eventual impeachment.
Thomas Massie, on the other hand, has a bright future. Trump has elevated Massie’s profile and grown his audience. The door is open for him to run for another office or spread the message in other ways. Stay tuned!
I believe @RepThomasMassie is going to win his primary race today. Trump and his new swamp buddies have made a huge mistake. Instead of embracing the everyday Americans supporting Massie’s message, they’ve chosen to shrink the coalition as if they welcome failure in the midterms this fall.
But this has elevated Massie to a household name, and energized and grown his base of support. Even if Massie were to lose this particular inning, the game isn’t over and we’ll keep growing stronger. There’s nothing but win in Kentucky tonight!
Proud to donate again to @RepThomasMassie for Congress! There’s only 10 days left until the Kentucky primary, and the DC swamp is trying to take out the best congressman in America. But we won’t let them!
While I’m in a Judiciary Committee hearing today, my self propelled chicken tractor is on my farm in Kentucky raising broiler chickens on pasture. It uses super-capacitors, not batteries, to store solar power, so I call my invention the “Clucks Capacitor.”
The war powers resolution that Ro Khanna and I introduced today to prevent the United States from entering the war between Israel and Iran now has 27 cosponsors.

Game? This demonic freak is a threat to the safety of every man, woman, and child on earth. The people he is supposed to represent should be ashamed for foisting him on the world.
I feel good standing with Elon Musk, Rand Paul, and Thomas Massie on this one. The GOP is going to be destroyed in the midterms if the budget busting doesn't stop.
I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore.
This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination.
Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.
I see @RandPaul is making a trip to first-in-the-nation Iowa. Could he be considering a campaign for President? There's one reason politicians come to Iowa - and it's not the sweet corn!
On hold today and thumbing through an old copy of Gold, Peace, and Prosperity - the Birth of a New Currency by @RonPaul. The dedication is "to Carol, whose love and support are more precious than gold". There is no finer couple anywhere, and they made an amazing family.
I stand with @RepThomasMassie! He's DC's greatest champion of freedom, genuine prosperity, and peace. We don't need him chased off (p.s. it won't work), we need hundreds more like him!
Fun to get a follow today from @DA_Stockman, former congressman and Reagan’s OMB director who has been heroically teaching about the dangers of runaway government spending for decades. A visionary deficit hawk!
