Ever wonder how to map whole brain activity in adult zebrafish? Wonder no longer!
We demonstrate how to use the adult zebrafish brain atlas (https://t.co/qxc1TbldY6) to identify the neural correlates of behavior!
Check it out...work led by Neha Rajput!

Super excited to have gotten tenure and remain part of the department! Thank you to all my mentors and graduate students who have made this possible. I'm humbled and extremely grateful π€
Congratulations to Drs. Glen Hood and Justin Kenney (@Fish4Brains) for recently being awarded tenure and promoted to Associate Professors!
We're excited to have the two of you as part of our department for years to come!
Great talk today from the first person to put an optogenetic construct in a neuron...none other than Dr. Zhuo-Hua Pan at the Wayne State school of medicine! Hopefully these will make it into therapeutics for vision loss soon.
It's about time someone took the fight to for-profit academic publishers! I never understood why reviewer's don't get paid while these companies rake in profit margins of over 35% for providing a service done no better (usually worse) than non-profits.

Any suggestions on current disagreements in neuroscience? I'm looking for papers for a grad class, and I'd like students to present papers on the same topic drawing different conclusions. Thinking: Adult neurogenesis in humans and glymphatic system controversy. Any other ideas?
First annual lab Belle Isle potluck and whiffle ball was a success! Complete with a diving catch, play at the plate, and controversial call at 2nd base.
Congratulations to recent biology alum @josephgjonaj for receiving the David D. Henry award from @waynestatealum! https://t.co/WImXjrY0xz. In addition to excellent grades, he did research with @Fish4Brains and was a co-author on a paper: https://t.co/qsjZlzjeTh Nice job Joe π!
Totally agree. We complain about a lack of science funding, yet collectively pay millions in exorbitant APCs or access fees to for-profit journals that add little value. That's money better spent supporting trainees and doing the science itself.
You want to change the publishing drama? It is on you! Do not submit or review for journals that are predatory. Do not review or submit to glam journals with cracy APC. Change how you assess scientists. Work only for society journals and not for profit OA publishers. Science 1st!
