If the financial cost of Net Zero doesn't alarm you, the physical reality should.
A wind turbine commissioned in 2025 is essentially e-waste by 2045. We're currently using high-density fossil fuels to build low-density wind solar replacements that cannot reproduce themselves.
Now meet turbine decay: 300,000 turbines - most with non-recyclable blades - will hit landfills by 2040.
Solar decay: Billions of panels with a 20-24-year lifespan all need to be replaced - possibly twice over by 2050.
Grid crisis: National electricity grids were never designed for intermittent power. It's not just being updated, it's being forced into an unsustainable configuration. We're replacing a self-sustaining energy system with a high-maintenance 'disposable' one.
Welcome to a dark future of perpetual rebuilding.
NET ZETO - The Bank of England has admitted that the Carbon permit costs paid by power plants are just passed on to bill payers. And er …. Adding to inflation 🤡
Stating the bloody obvious! It would be moronic to think business would not pass on these ‘fines’
it’s pathetic.
Seven large blocks of flats in NW London discharging raw sewage directly into vulnerable Thames tributaries 🤮
This takes us back to pre-Victorian times with our rivers literally being treated like open sewers
@thameswater is a failed business 😡 https://t.co/TnK0hSLn9c
Spaffing away £22 billion on carbon capture machines and destroying thousands of acres of prime farmland with mass-scale solar panels is not in the best interests of our national security. You are destroying our economic and food security on the altar of net zero.
The UK government is spaffing £22bn of taxpayers’ money on carbon capture machines. Yet, carbon capture technology requires “almost as much energy as that contained in the fossil fuels that produced the CO2 in the first place. An exercise in futility.”
£22bn white elephant.
A squirrel, unpaid by taxpayers, burying a free acorn which will next spring turn into a free carbon capture scheme lasting 600 years or more. @Ed_Miliband
14 million trees have been cut down in Scotland to make way for wind farms.
Yet now the government is blowing £22 Billion on carbon capture. What were the 14 million trees doing then? Sheer net zero lunacy.

#CarbonCapture
The UK CC plan will (if it works at all) remove 8.5 million tonnes of CO2 per year
That's 1/40th of UK's CO2
So will influence climate by 1/40th of our 1/5,000th of a degree per year
1/200,000th of a degree per year
For £22,000,000,000
A good deal for Brits?
Our LUNATIC government have announced today they will spend £22 billion on Carbon capture & storage .
This is such a load of utter nonsense on top of other utter nonsense. Miliband & crew need a straitjacket & to be kept in them until this lunacy dies.
The devastation of #HS2 is so great is because of this ridiculous design speed. It has to go straight, it can't bend round sensitive sites so this maximises the damage to the natural world and it has to be far wider than a traditional railway. And cost goes up. #Panorama
Labour net zero strategy:
1. Close down North Sea oil
2. Wreck steel industry.
3. Port Talbot loses X,000 workers, kills town. Makes “green steel” useless for construction/armaments.
4. Imports high grade steel from China/India to pretend we don’t make any CO2.
5. Destroys car industry with crazy 2030 EV target, 1 million jobs.
6. Turn UK into Theme park manufacturing bugger all.
7. Ed Milband declares UK is world net zero leader.
8. World laughs.
9. Electricity shortage. Blackouts. Record unemployment and deaths from cold.
10. Anti-Net Zero riots spread.
11. Ends
“We are going to have to be unpopular.”
~ Keir Starmer
Removing the winter fuel allowance from millions of pensioners isn’t just unpopular, it’s cruel. And meanwhile, taxpayers continue to pay for MPs’ energy costs in their second homes.
#bbclaurak
This is massively disingenuous boasting by Ed Miliband. He is claiming credit when it wasn’t entirely due, because this year’s renewables auction was designed well before the general election.
The last government was prepared to pay up to £73 a megawatt hour (bizarrely stated in 2012 prices, which equate to £84/MWh in today’s prices) for offshore wind, a huge leap from the £44 level that produced no takers in 2023.
And…most of the government payments (taxpayer funded money) for the renewable contact
auction have been given to international renewables markets.
“Ed Miliband adds £150 to household bills with wind turbine building spree. Profits from record-breaking green expansion will go to foreign energy firms.”
UK net zero is a burden on taxpayers, a wealth transfer to overseas corporations and a land grab.
