@thehammerph@KayleeDiMarco Looks like or are a pilot. Is it possible that with the heavy winds a downdraft could force a 767 to drop unexpectedly near touchdown? We landed on an E175 on same runway about 30mins later and there were some snappy gusts on approach. Or does this point to pilot error?
@krisvancleave@flightradar24 We landed on this runway 30mins after the incident. Heavy WNW winds likely 30kts. Runway 29 is short, so low approach is necessary. Suspect gale force winds played a role.
@JKash000@AlecLace@LStargazer54 So we landed 30mins after this flight on same runaway. When wind is howling from WNW (like today) Runway 29 is utilized. Itโs a short runway so requires low approach. It was windy af coming in today so Iโm guessing that had something to do with this one incident.
@librab103@CBSNews Runway 29 is very short and was being used today due to 30-35mph winds out of WNW. Big plane like that is forced to approach low. We landed 30mins after this on same runway and there were lots of emergency vehicles on the tarmac still.
@Uc_heyy02@CollinRugg Do to heavy WNW winds all traffic landing on 29 which is short runway forcing low approach for large aircraft. We landed same runway 30mins after this happened and it was brutal landing.
@WindyCityWxMan@patrickoyulu We landed same runway about 40mins later. Lots of emergency equipment around runway and it was heavy gale out of WNW. Prob close to 30-35kts. Crazy shit.
