To the Soldiers of the Carolina Regiment,
My brothers,
For many seasons we marched with our eyes fixed upon Lord Stanley, believing it to be the destination of our journey. Yet now, standing before it at last, I have come to understand a truth that few men ever learn.
The Cup was never waiting for us.
It was waiting for the men we would become in pursuit of it.
A chalice of silver cannot create champions. It merely reflects them. Within its polished walls are not faces, but sacrifices; not victories, but every defeat that taught us to rise again. Every scar upon our bodies, every tear shed in silence, every mile marched together has been engraved upon it long before our names ever shall be.
Many spend their lives chasing trophies, believing possession brings fulfillment. Yet no object, however glorious, can fill an empty soul. Its true worth lies only in the road it demands a man travel before he is worthy enough to lift it.
That is why this prize belongs not to the strongest, nor the swiftest, nor even the most gifted.
It belongs to the faithful.
To those who refused to abandon one another when hope grew thin. To those who learned that greatness is found not in standing above your brothers, but in kneeling to help them rise.
When our hands first grasped Lord Stanley’s Prize, I did not feel the weight of silver.
I felt the weight of every practice before dawn, every painful defeat, every doubt conquered, every brother carried, and every promise kept.
In that moment, I realized the Cup is not a reward.
It is a mirror.
And when we gazed into it together, it reflected not individual glory, but a single soul forged from many hearts.
One day another regiment shall claim this treasure, and our names will drift farther into history. But no future champion can ever take from us what this Cup has already given us: the knowledge that for one glorious season we pursued something so noble, so difficult, and so demanding that it transformed ordinary men into brothers.
The silver will tarnish.
The cheers will fade.
Even memory itself will surrender to time.
But the men who walked this path together shall carry its lessons until their final breath.
That, my brothers, is why the Stanley Cup is the greatest prize in all the world.
Not because it can be won—
But because of what it requires a man to become before he is worthy to touch it.
Your faithful commander,
Jordan “Conn Smythe” Staal

Commanding

I’ve been waiting all season to get this work done. So happy to be a @Canes fan love that I can show it off. Proud of this team. Thank to a great organization for a memorable season.
For the first time since 2006, the Carolina Hurricanes are going to the Stanley Cup Finals.
I'm about to play this song on a loop for the next four hours.

*canes are the 1 seed for 1st time in franchise history
Everyone: this is RIGGED everyone they’re playing is TOO EASY
almost like that’s the point of being good in the regular season. Give it a rest. The Avs played the team with 2nd fewest regulation wins in the LEAGUE in Rd 1
What a 36 hours for Canes defenseman Sean Walker:
📞 Found out at 1am Friday morning his wife’s water broke
✈️ Took a 6am flight home
🍼 Made it in time to see the birth of his first child (a daughter)
🛩️ Took owner Tom Dundon’s private jet back to Philly today, arrived 2pm
🧹 Helped the Canes finish off the sweep, 6pm
Incredible! @ABC11_WTVD
